I Want to Lie
Just lie

“At the bottom of freshly dug holes, I bury my problems alongside the waxen seeds.” ― Kelseyleigh Reber, If I Resist
The head doctor’s waiting list serpentined around the town headed to the next town a good fifty-mile drive, in thick traffic, with miles of red brake lights — visible to any pair of eyes.
I wish it were a lie! Then an idea struck me when I saw such a line. I immediately started digging with the spade; in the hole sat the hellebores, a variety of roses and irises.
Something for every season to fulfill my senses. They bloomed! No surprise! Par excellence and to my satisfaction, my wishes came true! That is not a lie!
I lie on a bed of blooms. The fragrance and the visual impact of the abundant colors against the verde background truly healing and soothing! Oh! I cannot lie anymore!
Amongst the blooms sprang the string of words, as in poetry!
I never was on that waiting list. Hopefully never!
I cannot lie anymore! I want to lie in a bed of poetry! I want to lie in the poetry bed! That is not a lie!
“Oh, my child, can you not see? You must let go of yourself. For if a seed wishes to live, it must sacrifice itself and grow outward, not inward.” ― Seth Adam Smith, Rip Van Winkle and the Pumpkin Lantern
The photos in the gif below are from my garden from various seasons. Gardening can be used as therapy; of course, every person’s condition is unique to the situation and the individual. It is up to the individual what route one would like to take to heal. Arts, writing, gardening, etc., can all be therapeutic.
I have to stop to look at the leaves, the flowers, the buds, and sometimes the roots. That is me! Please do not rush me! I have to observe nature since it is a gift, and it is free.

Many thanks to Jaylee Reign and Raine Lore, editors of The Rvr, for publishing this piece (details provided below).
The last quote presented here and which I found true in real life.
“A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” ― Mark Twain
I never had to go to any head doctor or be on their waitlist; that is true. I am extremely fortunate, and grateful to have all the love, support, and encouragement from my Medium friends, who took the time from their busy schedules to read my pieces.
