I want to delete my Simily account, but there is no option to do that
There isn’t even the Help section
The past week or so this platform is filled with stories about Simily and how great it is. People are inviting others to join making it sound like you’ll become a millionaire by starting to write there. Maybe it is a great platform, but not for everyone.
When I saw one of the mentioned stories I decided to give it a try. Like I did with Vocal, Newsbreak, and Hubpages. Honestly, I was excited to have one more platform to share my stories on. And one more stream for money to drop from.
My excitement was lost quickly. It’s not the easiest platform to work with, there are worse, but I didn’t find it very user-friendly to my taste. However, I uploaded a few stories and shared them. Just as I do with my Medium stories.
Then after a few days, one person starts bombarding me with an invitation to join a group I didn’t see myself fit in. I rejected it once, twice, three, four times and finally decided to put an end to it.
But wait, there is no “block” or the “stop sending me to request to join this group” option on Simily. You keep getting harassed with emails that someone invited you to join the group and unread notifications on the platform. So you are stuck with this vicious circle.
I understand that the platform is new, and there are things to improve or change, but why didn’t they include the “Help” option? How am I supposed to find my way in dealing with some things if I don’t have “Help”? The only option one has is an email or social media.
The first title of this story was: I deleted my account on Simily quicker than it took me to start it, but I have to change it because there is no “delete account” option either. Or at least I couldn’t find it. If only I had “Help” to check out and find my answers.
To conclude this rant: not every platform writers suggest is for everyone (me) and I don’t have to try them all.
What is your experience with Simily?
Thank you for reading.
