I Visited an Orgasm Sound Library

Here is how it went

The moment I discovered the Orgasm Sound Library, I knew I had to visit. And I wasn’t disappointed.

This article is about my experience, what I learned, and how you can visit the library, too.

What the Heck Is An Orgasm Sound Library?

The Orgasm Sound Library is an online repository of orgasm sounds.

You can think of it as a YouTube or Spotify for orgasm audio. Anyone in the world can freely visit, listen to hundreds of people having orgasms, and even upload their own orgasm sounds.

Keep in mind there is no video or pictures. This is not a pornography site.

Believe it or not, it’s actually a cultural and research platform designed to help lay people and scientists better understand the experience of orgasm.

Why Does the Orgasm Sound Library Exist?

According to the website, the Orgasm Sound Library exists for the following reason:

Hear what female pleasure really sounds like by listening to orgasms recorded by women like you, who are willing to remove the taboos imposed by society and by ourselves.

In a nutshell, the library is about celebrating female pleasure.

Something, as many of us know, that historically has been downplayed, shunned, criticized, and all but outright banned.

In a world where too often female pleasure is treated as taboo, it’s important to have products and services that celebrate female sexuality in a healthy and respectful way.

The Orgasm Sound Library is one such platform.

This library contains a collection of discrete sound recordings that capture the sounds of female and male orgasms.

By providing these recordings, the library helps to remove the stigma that surrounds female pleasure. The library provides a valuable resource for those who wish to embrace their sexuality in a mature and inclusive way.

The library is an important step in helping to create a more open and healthy society, and it is my hope that it will help to break down the barriers that keep too many people from experiencing the fullness of their sexual potential.

Here’s What Happened When I Visited

I clicked on the titillating link title, Orgasm Sound Library. I had no idea what I was about to see.

When the new browser window opened, I saw the picture of a woman’s face along with the text “66% of people have a fictional view of sex. Find out how in this video.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, when I clicked to play the video, I found out it was a YouTube video.

Here is the actual 2-minute video:

Not only was it a YouTube video, but it was also a YouTube video in Spanish with English subtitles. The video wasted no time getting my attention when I was met with the sounds of a female orgasming.

As the audio of the woman orgasmed in Spanish, I watched a series of men and women in headphones smile and awkwardly look around at each other.

While they were not all in the same room, they were all hearing the same sounds.

It’s like the audio-only version of a group of people watching someone have sex. After about a minute, the video showed a woman in a sound booth faking an orgasm.

Then, the listeners reacted to what they thought of the orgasms.

Based on a survey, at least 60% of the listeners believed that the orgasms were real. 44% believed they were fake.

I didn’t see a complete breakdown by gender, but the video itself showed several women saying outright that they thought the sounds were fake while several men thought that they could be real.

Which, I believe demonstrates that most men might not have a realistic understanding of what female pleasure really sounds like.

Go figure.

Once the video was over, I scrolled down the homepage of the Orgasm Sounds Library. The next thing I found was a search bar where I could enter keywords.

It looked like any other search bar on any other website, including Google.

Underneath the search bar, a statement read, “Yes, I’m over 18 and I’m interested.” I wondered what my 13-year-old self would have thought of this website.

I’m sure I would have quickly clicked through that link.

This is what happened when I clicked.

Browsing the Shelves of the Orgasm Sound Library

As soon as I clicked, I was taken to another page that allowed me to search for orgasms by a number of filters.

Filters like:

  • Duration
  • Relevance
  • Favorites

I could choose orgasm sounds that lasted 10–20 seconds, 20–30 seconds, or 30+ seconds. Relevance offered additional filters, such as most viewed, most shared, and most popular.

Continuing to browse down the page, I noticed that most of the uploads were less than 2 minutes long.

One audio stretched to a Tantric four and a half minutes.

On this page, I could also enter keywords for a manual, specific search.

Underneath the search bar, the library offered me several sounds. They wondered if I might be interested in hearing multiple prostate orgasms, a solo man orgasm, or a man and a wife orgasming from a year ago.

Instead, I went for the most popular orgasms.

Listening to the Most Popular Orgasms In the World

I filtered by “most popular” and chose a recording called “Cum Oh Yes Cum.”

Here is a screenshot of the audio:

The 44-second audio slowly built to an orgasmic finish.

As I listened, I felt privy to a very intimate act between two people I didn’t know. Unlike watching porn, listening to this audio did not feel sexual. While the sounds aroused me, I was not in a purely sexual state of mind.

I listened to learn and understand.

I listened to another human being — a stranger — experience pure pleasure.

One thing I really liked was the visual representation of the audio waves. You can see it in the screenshot as blue, amorphous clouds.

The “clouds” add another non-sexual layer to the library experience.

Next, I listened to other popular orgasm sounds with these titles:

  • Another French Orgasm for You
  • Ow Yeah
  • Loving Myself

What Did I Learn?

The biggest lesson that I learned from the Orgasm Sound Library is the vast diversity of female pleasure.

After listening to a batch of orgasms from around the world, it seems that most real orgasms are slower, quieter, and less dramatic than fake orgasms. I assume the range of speed and volume varies in the real world but this is a pattern I noticed in the recordings.

Also, there is no right way or wrong way to express your pleasure.

I like how the library put it: “What does real female pleasure sound like? Your sound.”

Whatever sound you, as a female, make during orgasm is what a female orgasm sounds like. Same for men. Your sound is a real sound, authentic sound, and a valid expression of your personal pleasure.

There’s no need to endlessly scream in staccato moans like in a porn video.

Then again, if that’s what you really do, there’s nothing wrong with it.

I guess the biggest lesson I learned is about acceptance.

What To Know If You Visit

There are a few things you might want to know if you visit the library:

  • When you click on filters on a desktop, the options appear in the top left-hand corner (which you may not see unless you scroll all the way to the top of the page).
  • Audio starts to play the moment you go to search for any orgasm sound. That might be good to know if you happen to go browsing in public. Either turn the sound down or use headphones.
  • Be prepared for an emotional and intimate experience.
  • You can upload or record your own orgasm sounds to the website with a few clicks.

If you want to upload or record, here is the direct link to the upload page.

Final Thoughts

I think it’s worth taking a look (or listen) at the library. You never know, you could end up changing your whole worldview on orgasms.
