I Use This 1 Tool to Monetize My Newsletter
And no, it’s not monthly subscriptions
Over the last two years, I’ve been building my side hustle newsletter and it’s finally started to really explode.
It’s taken off in both subscribers and money earned.
OK, so taken off is a bit extreme of a word for money earned, but it went from earning $0 to $87 last month.
Monetizing a newsletter is tricky. Most of us struggle with the building process and then once we have enough followers, monetization methods can be limited.
The first method most newsletter owners land on is charging subscribers a monthly fee. While this is a profitable and scalable monetization method, I find it to be flawed.
Your newsletter truly has to offer me some incredible value if you want me to pay you a monthly fee to read it.
Another method for newsletters to earn money is by running ads.
I know gig workers on Fiverr who get paid to blast out random ads on their newsletter and while I’m sure that method works, once again it’s just not for me.
I truly care about the subscribers of my newsletter and don’t want to send out an ad to a product I’m not completely sure about. It’s too random and once a Fiverr order is placed, you can’t just cancel it because you’ve never heard of the buyer before. Or maybe you can? I’m not sure.
Anyways, I decided to monetize my newsletter in a different way: Swapstack.
Swapstack is the only tool I use to monetize my newsletter for several reasons. It’s a newsletter advertising marketplace that is still relatively new but growing quickly.
Basically, Swapstack vets advertisers and newsletter owners and only accepts the best of both. From there, it makes connecting with a relatable advertiser or newsletter easy.
There are more than one ways to connect with an advertiser and earn money on Swapstack. My favorite is the Plug & Play method.
Depending on your newsletter’s niche and your number of subscribers, you’ll qualify to run Plug & Play deals with certain brands. All you have to do is choose your deal, get your affiliate link/branding materials and plug them into your next newsletter.
The next month you’ll earn payments based on the number of conversions you send with your affiliate link.
This method is truly my favorite way to monetize my newsletter. My subscribers aren’t forced to pay for anything and relatable ads are suggested to me.
I’ve also done single advertisement posts with brands found on Swapstack and the invoicing process is extremely easy because it’s all done through the platform.
If you have a newsletter, I highly suggest hopping on hopping on Swapstack and testing it out.
