I Took My Dreams to God and I Started to Earn a Huge Income with My Blog

How My Income Started to Flow Once I Took it to God

I knew that in order for me to have an income with my blog I had to learn one lesson. Well, many lessons inside one major one actually. I had to cover ALL the mistakes and ALL the pitfalls I have ever made and may make in the future. But one thing is clearer to me than ever before and that was to bring it all to God first.

I needed to bring all these worries and ideas that I had in my head to Him before I ever published anything. Just like what my blog and brand now more than ever promotes. Encouraging women everyday to pray first.

It’s written all over the Bible but is most glanced over. We don’t all the time pray over our food but in the back of our heads it’s there and we usually do that always on Thanksgiving, right? But we forget it’s there, waiting for us everyday. We are told to never cease praying and yet we don’t do it most days.

I encourage everyone to not talk to God if the only time you do it is when it feels it will help you. Let’s dive in deeper, shall we?

From the get-go of building your business/brand/blog, you shouldn’t put your focus solemnly on making money. Sure, that might be the main goal so you no longer have to work your 9 to 5 but in reality and in the blogging world you do in fact get what you give.

1. Give it all to God

Give it all and all of it. I’m talking about the glory, the sacrifice. your love, your life, the dreams that you have and goals you have made checklists for. Give it all to God and say I am Yours to use.

2. Don’t pray for just yourself

God is not, and I repeat, God is not some magical genie in a bottle there for your every wish. So do not treat Him that way. He is the God of gods and Lord of all. You may not want to hear it but this world does not revolve around you. He made it and it’s His and it’s for His glory.

So do not just pray for yourself, pray for the world A.K.A your audience. Pray they hear God when they listen to your message and it strikes a nerve with them, not allowing them to let go and keep coming back for more.

3. Grow a dedicated audience

You will never make money if you do not have traffic and that’s a fact. Patience is key but waiting for the dough to roll in just because you post some content will not bring the ideal audience that you need and want.

You have to stay consistent with posting and sticking to one platform before heading over to another one. Yes, this will feel like a job because that’s what you’re trying to make it to be after all, right?

4. Be prepared for irregular and inconsistent income

Not saying this will happen to you but… do I have to remind you what 2020 looked like? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

It’s just in your best interest to be prepared for this, in fact to be prepared for anything this thing called life throws at you. Have backup plans and multiple streams of income that you can easily invite your blog (and viewers) to.

My all time favorite is linking your own products for your audience to buy. It makes you the most money and is most enjoyable for me to make and share!

You can see for yourself here on my Etsy shop!

5. Build an email list

Once you have someone on your email list, you have a subscriber and it really proves a point. It means they are truly invested to what you have to offer which also means you can’t let them down! But don’t let this bother you. Just like I said prior, pray about it first.

Not only does an email list increase the chances of making sales, it does wonderous things such as building your credibility by getting feedback from readers all while testing out your brilliant ideas to see what works best for you.

And how do you exactly build an email list you may ask? It’s all about the simplicity of exchange and it’s truly what makes the game. You offer to give away something free that you have created or can provide in exchange for your viewer’s email address and then boom! They are now a subscriber of your so-fresh content.

With all the content that you will create, don’t forget the One who created you. It’s because of Him that you even get to have and go after these hopes and dreams that you feel so deeply. Perhaps this is the calling on your life. And just like my journey with this, you too will grow so much closer with the Lord.

He knows our thoughts, hearts, our feelings & our fears. But telling God that you know this too, and surrendering it all at Jesus’ feet will bring you peace.

Before you go, focus on these three things for your blog. Praying before publishing. Creating content for who created you. Getting visitors to make them subscribers.

I hope you have enjoyed this read as much as I enjoyed making it. Happy blogging!
