I Took a Trail and let it Lead
Nature Poetry
I took a trail and let it lead Through the bushes, through the weeds Over the stumps and around the trees I took a trail and let it lead
I skipped on past a pile of leaves And watched in awe at a hive of bees I looked on the ground, a pile of seeds And I took the trail and let it lead
Into the wild, no need for keys All I needed was nature and me At night I crawled down on my knees And sat down next to the fire to read
I sat on the trail and took its heed As I watched the moon and let myself dream Of all the stars and earth’s good deeds As I took the trail and let it lead
