I Took a Spontaneous Camping Trip With My Friend

Standing in our incredible camp spot with my friend Jocelyn (Right)

I took a Spontaneous Camping Trip in Southern Nevada with my friend Jocelyn. We had plans to hike on a nearby trail called The Bonanza Trail. When Jocelyn mentioned that she wanted to camp. I declined at first but the sound of camping sounded really nice. I knew that I needed to recharge and camping is always the best way to recharge.

My Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1, Backpacking tent. I love this thing!

I immediately thought about a spot that I have been eyeballing for the past 5 years. Why has it taken me so long to get out and do this? I am so incredibly happy that we finally made it to this spot to camp.

This was my view. Incredible.

Jocelyn showed up at my house in the late afternoon and we showed up just in time. We set up our tents, explored the creek, and sat down just in time to witness a breathtaking sunset. The sound of the birds chirping, the creek flowing and the wind blowing in the brush was exactly what I have been needing.

The skies were bright orange at one point.

The skies were filled with color and I could not wait to crawl in my tent. My favorite type of sleep is camping sleep. Getting cozy in my cocoon and looking up at the sky does something special for me. It allows me to realize how my struggles can quickly disappear. I am reminded that I need to appreciate what really matters. I suddenly feel lucky to be alive and have the ability to witness such beauty.

The sky continued the change. Purples, oranges, reds, and blues.

Recharge is the word that I think about when I am remembering this trip. It has recharged my soul and filled it with happiness, my mind has been recharged and filled with positive thoughts and my body is recharged with the energy that I have been needing.

Simply enjoying life with my pal Jocelyn
