I Thought Creating Money on LinkedIn Was a Joke Until I Repeatedly Earned $300 Using This Workflow
For consultants, do the steps consistently — it will work.

I have witnessed and heard a lot of scams online. Some people even connive to make transactions look true to the public eye.
Say on Facebook — a pretender-seller will post an item for sale while another person will comment as a buyer to express satisfaction with the offer. Having people vouch for something online makes it look genuine, only to find out that there is no product — and they merely want money to — pocket in.
It was the same view I had on LinkedIn. Being an account user for more than a decade, I saw how the platform evolved through the years. From a static platform to an interactive network — it is good to see how it transformed. It is becoming like any other social media platform — there is a lot of engagement of content happening from people around the globe.
Give it a few scrolls — and you will notice that it is almost the same as Facebook. Most people also talk about making money using the platform. You will see people sharing how they made money by using LinkedIn as their source of leads.
When you are new to LinkedIn, it feels a cringe seeing these kinds of posts — even some flexing screenshots about how much money they made after all.
No regrets falling for the bait
I eventually ate my words. I found myself doing what others were also doing — I realized that making money on LinkedIn is true when I experimented with it.
And now, I have treated creating content as a job. Content is your voice to draw attention to your audience. It is your voice when you talk at a party or event.
I found myself talking about how to gain opportunities and make money too using the platform. I even came up with a LinkedIn course so that I can spread the wisdom across my connections.
If you are a coach or consultant, it is doable as long as you make time and commit to this workflow. Even if you have a 9–5 job, you will experience actual results.
Choose a subject to evangelize
I love to talk about life and career. A good conversation accompanied by hot coffee on a sunny afternoon — would make me sit for an hour or two.
Holistically any topic under it may be having kids, job-hopping, money issues with the spouse, or eyeing promotion — name it, I would love to discuss it. Even If I do not have any experience with the subject, I would love to hear others’ thoughts about the topic.
Learning is a lifelong process — it energizes me whenever I experience a lightbulb moment.
Break it down into verses
I decided to post short narratives on LinkedIn about life and career topics. And I did it for the very reason to be heard — and speak my truth, nothing else at that time.
Writing a story with 1,300 characters is quite a challenge (LinkedIn extended the limit to 3000 characters this time). But I eventually pulled it off by doing it a regular habit in my daily life.
I would share my experiences about getting bullied, hopping jobs, feeling worn out — and having no energy for my kids when I get home.
I consistently shared stories about my experience and thoughts on similar topics.
Attract and attack
Sharing my content regularly — drove potential leads for me. I would receive messages regularly from strangers seeking consultation and help.
My stories were similar to compositions of songs. I produce content with the same theme — but there is a specific story or thought that they relate so — deeply.
Upon receiving their message, It was a signal for me already. I invite people to sit down with me on a call so I can get to know more about their situation.
Free recommendation — and introduction of a paid version
After analyzing the situation during the discovery call, I would break down their problems and emphasize the real issue. I would provide my initial recommendation — followed by a paid prescription.
I charge $300 for four to five sessions for those who availed of my paid session. If they are satisfied with my free session, no worries — we both win in this situation.
Whether they avail only of my free session or carry over with the paid consultation — I ask for a recommendation.
The more testimonials I get from other people, the better. Statements from people who tried my product or service offer are a great come-on to close deals later.
Key Takeaway
The more you evangelize your content, the more people can search for you in the age of web 3.0.
Ensure that your content aligns with what you do to be specific about your representation to grab attention. If people start sending personal messages to you — and inquire about what they need from you, allow a few exchanges to get the context of their situation. Once you gain a position, invite them to a call.
During the call, throw a lot of questions to discern what requirements they need based on the situation. Propose your initial thoughts and suggestions — and always include a paid program for a prescription.
If they do not push through with the paid program — that is okay. Ask for a recommendation in exchange for your time and effort once again. Doing this is both a win-win.
