I think we don’t thank people enough

sometimes, we don’t even thank people at all.

⚠️People= people close to you. Your people. Expressing gratitude by saying ‘thank you’.

I think we don’t thank people enough, and maybe even sometimes, we don’t even thank people at all.

You wake up at 3 pm, and the whole house has been tidied up, unlike the night you slept when you remembered how you made a mess of the place. But you didn’t say thank you to the one person who dragged their heavy bones to clean the mess you made.

Your mom is always in the kitchen; cooking, washing the dishes, doing this and that. You wake up to eat the breakfast she made, and you don't say thank you.

Your father is always paying your tuition fees. Yes, he might be obliged to, but doesn't he need a thank you?

Your roommate, a neat freak. You get back from work at 2 pm one time, and you find the bathroom floors and walls glistening, and you know you didn’t leave it like that before you went out. And you couldn’t even say thank you.

Thank your friends for always being there. That friend who always has you in mind. Your boyfriend/girlfriend/best friend. Even that stranger who helped you pick your pen off the street floor one day in October.

Thank your mother for always calling you. All day, every day. Showing up for you!

Is it too heavy? Is our mouths in bondage that it is imprisoned by such a statement?

Thank people. It wouldn't take anything from you. It might even set you free.

The world is filled with things we should be thankful for. We are all filled with things we should be thankful for.

Thank you for taking the time to read, dear friends🫶🏼🫂!!!
