I Still Miss Your Big Hard Worker Squeezing Hands on My Face
Blessed We Met — How Lucky I Am
How lucky I am to have known you. The first time we met you went out of your way to make me feel accepted and automatically part of your family. I was pretty shy at first. Learning my boundaries with our exchanges. Never unpleasant with me. Always happy to see me. Squeezing my face within your huge hands, and kissing me a big welcome as soon as I set foot in your house.
So generous with me for everything. Such a clown always trying to make me laugh. From a young lumberjack to working in a wood processing fabric, you had worked very hard in your life. You had such a nice personality. No school education degrees, but life had given you the highest level of education, the survival mode intelligence. You did what you had to do to make sure you would survive, and so would your family. You were not rich money-wise, but very rich emotionally surrounded by a loving family and friends.
Respected by your village, Laforce (Temiscamingue), you were considered as an integral part of its development and your neighbours loved your strong and frank nature. You loved your wife as best as you could and raised three beautiful children. You were a loving grandfather.
Unfortunately, life has decided to take you away from your loved ones. Fifteen years later, I still miss your big hard worker squeezing hands on my face. I consider myself very privileged to have known you and having you since your departure as yet another of my guardian angels.
My long lost father in law, Bertrand, you have been such a good person to me, I consider myself blessed our paths have crossed. You have thought me to stay humble, simple, honest and extremely generous. I will forever keep you in my mind and my heart. Big hugs Bertrand!
