I Started Writing on Medium and Substack at the Same Time.
I have been trying, in my own ineffectual way, to have a creative writing career for nearly two decades, it hasn’t stuck, until now.

Like a boomerang, I’ve cast myself out from Fargo to Iowa City; Chicago; and, Bath, England, in pursuit of qualifications that I thought were bringing me closer to a life of creativity, writing, and the slowness I need to remain healthy, but always returned with my tail between my legs.
I started a Substack to engage with the many people I’ve met IRL through my travels and I joined Medium to engage with the community of writers and readers here.
Coffee Times is trying to bring those spaces together with a Challenge. I’ve entered an essay that needs 100 likes to move to the next stage of the competition. Can you give it a like?
