I started a faceless Instagram account
30-Day Results
I went for it! Going faceless on Instagram. I had been doing it on TikTok for years. I thought why not go for IG.
So, I went all in and for 30 days I was on IG, posting consistently, navigating the platform and setting my account up for success.
Here’s exactly what I did, where the account is today, results, and more.
Let’s go!
Why Instagram?
First, faceless Instagram has been around for a long time. Honestly, all my IG accounts in the past have been faceless.
I’ve either repurposed TikTok content or posted catalog pics from my online store or quote posts.
Even my personal IG has no pics of me other than the profile pic.
I like the idea of faceless IG because unlike TikTok where you have to wait until you reach 1,000 followers to have a link in bio, you get this feature on IG immediately.
This is gold!
And, IG has a lot of posting options — stories, reels, posts, etc.
I decided to go for it.
Here’s the account, for reference (about 40 days later)…

The box with the metrics you can ignore. It’s from a plugin I have installed on my computer.
At first…
What I did was repost my TikTok’s to IG.
This can work. It worked really well a few years ago when everyone was talking about how fast you can grow on IG reels just by reposting.
But, not so much today.
It’s easy enough and if you want to start with faceless IG, this is one of the easiest ways to do it.
Get content from your TikTok, remove the watermark with the Snaptik website (it’s free) then post on IG.
Easy.
I wasn’t getting the results and engagement I wanted doing this so I switched over to more aesthetic style videos.
There’s a whole community on IG that’s doing this by the way, and it’s pretty effective.
New accounts are growing by 100 followers a day, everyone is super supportive, you’ll get DMs from others in the community, it’s awesome.
What I’m doing now…
Honestly, there are a bunch of different ways to grow.
I was seeing newer accounts than mine (like 7 days old compared to my 30+ days old account) that had triple my followers.
I investigated and found that one of the fastest ways to grow is the follow for follow method, informally.
Follow for follow
Follow other accounts and get a percentage of those people following you back.
Why this works?
It’s remarkably effective. It’s informal so, you’re not getting on a thread where you follow 100 accounts and get 100 follows back. You just pick and choose the accounts to follow and hope they follow you back.
For example, choose an IG account similar to yours, in your same niche and follow all their following.
Why this DOESN’T work?
You won’t necessarily get the target audience seeing your content that you want.
Sometimes.
But, organic following is better. It’s just slower, much slower usually (unless you get a viral post or viral reel).
Follow trains
This is a formal way to grow your followers. Join a thread where you follow X people and get X followers back.
It’s effective but again, you’re getting a mix of different IG accounts, not in your audience probably and this is only helpful for vanity usually.
Organic growth
Create high-quality, high-value content on IG. Get followers naturally, slowly over time.
My results
In about 40 days of being new on IG, I had under 50 followers. Super disappointing.
I started doing these things and within a week or two, my following transformed to the screenshot you see above.
- Engaging with my audience
- Engaging with peers
- Creating and posting more IG content
- Posting more IG stories than reels
- Participating in engagement threads
With nearly 10X more followers on my account, I am seeing a direct impact to my posts, with an increased number of views and engagements my IG posts are getting.
I think this is good way to jumpstart your account to get more engagement and more opportunities to have your content be shown to your target audience.
That’s how things are going.
IG is much different than when I was on it full-time many years ago with my e-commerce business. Back then I was running multiple mid to high-five figure (up to 95K followers) accounts and getting tons of engagement, feedback and sales.
I’m getting into the swing of things again.
What are some IG tricks you’ve tried?
What do you think about my progress so far?
