I spent 6 months in the Bahamas, What’s Next?
Hello Medium! Hello, my hundreds of loyal followers. I’m back! I’ve been away for a while taking a writing break, however, I’m ready to bust out article after article like Kanye with news headlines. After being on such a long hiatus it’s good to be back! To be honest a plethora of reasons lead to my lengthy sabbatical.
The main ones were, volunteering most of my time for 6 months in the Bahamas and being demotivated by underperforming articles. However, I am not volunteering anymore and my articles have been performing quite well even though I haven’t been on here at all. While away I noticed to keep getting feedback from old articles I wrote, so it’s nice to see I’m not the only one who cares about them.
6 Months in The Bahamas
Although many may assume the Bahamas are mainly a tropical paradise with nice weather, colorful margaritas and beach sunsets, they would be wrong. For many it is a home of over 700 Islands where they are isolated from each other and have to bear hurricanes every season. They also have to pay for expensive groceries like 10 dollar Oreos since imports are not cheap to get to their location.
Simply state I was not having a “relaxing vacation” I was a volunteering with a non-profit organization to rebuild hurricane victims homes and schools. It was hard, hot, humid, with bugs everywhere, and I kept injuring myself wherever I went. But overall, it was quite a rewarding experience. I recommend it to everyone to try it at least once in your short existential lifetime. I recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from their daily lives, travel, see the world from another perspective and build character.
I got to meet volunteers from all around the world like Tibet, Nepal, Columbia, Italy, and believe it or not America too (West Coast to East Coast). I also got to meet local Bahamians and learned a lot about their history and culture. (Like what their flag even looks like)

The Bahamian Flag has three colors, blue, gold, and black. It was adopted in 1973 to replace the British flag after gaining independence. The blue represents the seas, gold represents their sand and the sun, and the black represents their people.
My Next Medium Goal 3,500 Monthly views
I hope to do this by the end of the year, hopefully, fingers crossed
This will be a challenge. It will be more than tripling of what I am getting now. As of now without publishing or promoting I get about 1,200 monthly views. If I do a few articles weekly I believe that will greatly increase my chances of reaching my goal.
I spent quite a while volunteering in the Bahamas, but I’m back now and ready to write more. I started writing on Medium back in 2019. It was a challenge when nobody would read my articles (probably because I had 0 followers)
Fortunately, after time and time again putting in so much effort, I finally noticed some success. Receiving a few followers here and there #FAMOUS #Living TheLife
I thought my blog would’ve died when I stopped publishing and promoting it. But for some strange reason, I found that I was getting about 1,200 monthly views without doing anything. No writing. No Sharing. #NoWorries. Considering I was getting an average of 500 monthly views when I was writing and promoting articles, I can’t explain why that number went up, but won’t question it.
What to expect next?
I have a ubiquitous amount of idea topics to talk about. Such as talking about my long travels in the Bahamas and volunteer life. To YouTube and what it’s like being a professional photographer/ videographer. Also, World War 3 seems interesting, but more importantly, Will Smith slapping people (not just Chris) and any other “newsworthy topics.”
Also please subscribe to my Tiny Non-Existent YouTube Channel. I wanna take that more seriously by not just blogging about topics, but vlogging about them like Kanye. Just Kidding…
Check out this Recent Music Vid my Friend and I worked on.
You’ll probably regret it a lot… or maybe not…
