MAKE MONEY WRITING EBOOKS
I Sell Ebooks on More Than 9 Platforms
sell ebooks on multiple platforms
Write once. Sell multiple times!
I always believed that only Amazon KDP could make me a full-time income as a writer. For 7 years, I believed this. Later, I took my ebooks from the Kindle Unlimited Program and self-published them on various platforms.
Amazon KDP covers almost 70% of the readership. But there are a few more platforms that are making efforts to reach new geographical locations.
Kobo is famous in Canada.
KDP covers 90% of the US membership.
Barnes and Noble for the US
and so on.
As a country changes, so will their preferences.
I used to like Amazon KDP and Kobo a lot. And now I buy ebooks from Gumroad and print from Amazon. So I have different tastes when it comes to buying books.
Where do I sell my ebooks?
I previously wrote a guide, but the list wasn’t complete. Here I will write a complete list of the platforms where I sell my ebooks —
My top earners — Amazon KDP, Gumroad
Other small self-publishing platforms — Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Smashwords, Apple iBooks
Subscription Services — Kobo Plus, Scribd
Library — OverDrive, Odilo, Bibliotheca, Baker & Taylor, Hoopla (my biggest earner), BorrowBox, Palace Marketplace
Conclusion —
The best thing about writing ebooks is that you can sell them on marketplaces or through your website. Or you can do both! But try to concentrate on any one while marketing your ebooks. Too many buying options can confuse your readers.
If you ask me where to start, then I will highly recommend selling directly to your audience. There are many options available. I use Gumroad.
So don’t wait for any miracle to happen. Don’t wait for any out-of-the-world ideas. Start with what you already know or are interested in. Keep writing, and you’ll get there!
Good luck!
