Summarize

I sat there and watched you without blinking

I would like to thank my dear friend Mustapha El Hajj for tagging me in his prompt. I was scrolling on Medium while catching up on some reading, I also wanted to write something so thought about that simultaneously. I have written a lot of dark poems, Now, I wanted to write something jolly, fruitful, and positive. So, I saw Mustapha El Hajj’s Prompt and I thought why shouldn’t I try this? The theme is ‘Blooming’, and the word itself unfurls so many meanings, from expansion, growth, creation, nourishment, and satisfaction all packed and truncated in just one word. The original prompt creator is Jason Edmunds, one of my dear friends and a deeply emotive writer, No surprise that the theme itself has such gravity and brightness, a glaring dynamism.

So, let us start:

Meeting

I was traveling by the shores, of the coast, and for the sun to follow me,

As sands uncover, split, and unravel, seeing my trail that never ended.

At the forefront, watching a tuned string that I wanted to play.

It was an instrument that I wanted and longed for,

With the back of the sun and the forefront lay the moon,

Trapped in bright and dark at the same time, but there was music,

Running on the back, crazed and mazed, with different tones, like the Solitary Reaper,

I was enamored by the depth of it, I let myself fly, gliding and turning in the air,

Wanted to fall and see you… As I reached the atmosphere from space, just 10 meters above the ground,

I was hooked by gravity-defying force, as I walked in the air, with glistening shiny eyes I saw my Solitary Reaper.

I cried like a baby seeing my mermaid, deep-seated eyes, brown skin, hairs split and flowy, state so wondrous. She stood on a pedestal in my heart.

Watching

Walking like a lofty Gazelle, hopping silently like a rabbit, I took a snapshot of her,

I entered her fortress gliding, and channeling like a flowy windy crystal floating in the air.

I did a mid-air backstroke to catch a glimpse of her face, and I wept; for my weeping was essential.

It really did the thriving justice that the mermaid deserved, so graceful, so ornate, brittle like glass,

For if I touch it can poke a smudge her face, a small sensation could break her.

I was floating with her whaling and dolphining, butterflying to reach her.

As I was entering into her conscious, coming in and out, the Mermaid of the earth had Perching fins and did lofty and graceful walk like a tall giraffe with soft and tall legs,

I was entering into the Void, as the darkness was there ahead and then I entered into darkness a succulent black hole covered in tar.

Loving…

All the darkness, enveloped, wrapped, smoked, and chewed out bone tar, a black smoke churning and leaping.

I fell into the well, for the water is in unconsiderable length, not reaching the base,

The haze shatters the craze of love, and I can find my Mermaid of Earth nowhere.

In my thought traps you were too real now, I kept you in my mind even when I did not know where I am falling.

The longing for you only intensified as the space turned into the void, for the void turned into darkness, the darkness turns into cosmic space; I was shot like a hyperbole trapped in a nebulous, launching and experiencing multidimensional love of all cosmos appeared like the Mermaid.

Everything, everywhere, I go and go shooting up into space, I find her. I shoot up and fall down with a wavy movement and fall back to a closed darkening space. For she, is in there; but the vertical presence was a gritty imagination.

I go and come, fighting the perception with reality, illusion, and existence, everything and a particular thing.

Amidst such a dilemma, persisting enigma, I closed my eyes and took a leap, a leap of faith, for the rush is real now,

I fell, fell faster, I gave up, control, contrast, conundrums, and pushed myself while falling,

As from an outlet I appear, and fell down on clogged waste, filled with a dark substance,

Yet the mermaid vanished, but then I saw in that dense tight caked liquid like watery paste, I saw bubbles.

No heck a fish could live like this, I lifted her; she turned dark from all the tar and coal.

I could not see myself. She took me in her arms and told me to close my eyes.

She enforced a raging run at the smelly solid pool with her lofty fins, swimming like a dolphin with fins creating ripples and we reached the shores.

She was more beautiful than ever, she was dark and smelled funny, but I did too.

She started crying and I did not understand why? I saw her hand, it seems like dark smoke had seeped into her skin turning her black, completely dark.

I touched and kissed her forehead, and took her to another side where there was a freshwater lake.

We both entered and the tar-covered her skin, as she was trying to remove that with her nails.

I hold her hands and placed them over my neck and leaped over and kissed her,

Later I watched the mermaid, just watched like I watch sun, moon, dawn, dusk, night, seasons, eons, years, centuries, and decades sitting in the same place I watched.

For I believe she exists, her soul roamed there, at every day 5 am,

I come to the same place and I find my heart, soul, and gut being free.

And I watched daily, quarterly, yearly… repeating, reverting again, again and again….since she was there…. believed she was.
