I Said I Wasn’t Going to Start My Next Book Yet

But yesterday I did it anyway

I told myself that I wasn’t going to start my next book until I was settled into my new house, that there was too much to be done and my mind was too scattered right now.

Yesterday morning though, I realized, there has been so much waiting in my life lately. Waiting for our move. Waiting for the new house. Waiting for my work visa.

I thought, I should fill this time I have to spend waiting on doing something useful.

So, I started writing.

My next book is going to be about Recovering from Narcissistic Abuse. I realized, I have already written a lot about that here on Medium.

So, I copied and pasted everything I have already written into a Google Doc.

Then, I looked on Quora to see what the top questions are about recovering from narcissistic abuse, and I started writing a chapter to each of those.

After spending the whole day yesterday with my nose buried in the computer, I wrote to all but one of the prompts that I had written down.

I have over 100 pages done already. Wow.

It’s crazy how fast the writing can flow when you are really focused on what you are doing.

Once I get done with that last prompt, I need to work on an introduction, then edit for flow and add some transitions.

With my last book, I was aiming for a goal of 200+ pages, for some reason that I don’t actually remember.

This time, I am just going to see where the writing takes me, and not worry about the page count. I am just going to worry about saying what needs to be said on this topic, and leave it at that.

I hope you enjoy following me on my writing journey, my lovelies! I am going to share my process here with you, so that anyone else that is looking to write a book can see how it works.

Have any of you ever written a book? Do you want to write one? It is such a beautiful and rewarding process!
