I Remember The Day I Met You
A poem about words.
The day I laid my eyes on you Was so long overdue That before twenty-two You became part of my crew.
When you knocked at my door, At first, I didn’t know what to answer for, But you sat before me, Right there on the floor, And took me in, In your folklore.
That day, I fell for all your charms.
You were the first to touch my soul, The first to make me dream, To make me laugh, And to make me cry. The first to do it in a single night.
Yes, I’m talking about words, And, of course, their might.
I love words. They took me in when I was still a little boy, discovering for the first time the intricacies of life. Since then, they’ve never left me. But still, I remember the day I met them. And you?
