I Refuse to Hide My Quirks for Anyone

I’ll admit, I have some quirks. I like to sing along to songs on YouTube in my off-key voice. I sometimes dance in my living room. I eat French dressing on pizza. I talk to animals as though they are babies.

Perhaps some people find these traits annoying, but they are part of my personality. They are part of what makes me unique.

Earlier today, I was at a family member’s house. She has a sweet cat, and I spoke to that cat like she was a child, as I always do. I could see that my family member was embarrassed by what her husband might think.

I continued to speak to the cat like she was a baby. When I was a lot younger, I often hid my quirks to appease those around me, but I refuse to do that anymore. I am who I am, take it or leave it.

I will continue to sing off-key if that’s what I feel like doing. I will dance in my living room. I will eat French dressing on my pizza. I will talk to animals like they are babies.

I encourage anyone who needs to hear this, never hide your quirks for anyone. Let your unique personality shine through!
