The website content describes the Medium Writers Talent (MWT) Challenge, where the author encourages Medium members to create and publish a video of themselves reciting or discussing their own written work.
Abstract
The author of the website has initiated a challenge called the Medium Writers Talent (MWT) Challenge, inviting Medium members to submit a video where they recite or talk about one of their own stories or poems. This challenge was adapted from an original idea of a talent showcase to avoid potential copyright issues with music. Participants are encouraged to self-promote and have the freedom to choose what they share, whether it be poetry, fiction, non-fiction, or personal experiences, with a suggested video length of 1-2 minutes. The author has set an example by submitting their own video, emphasizing that the challenge is meant to be a fun and engaging activity amidst community tensions. The author also provides a referral link for non-members to join Medium and offers assistance to new writers looking to earn money through the platform.

Self-promotion is not only allowed but encouraged, reflecting the author's view that the challenge is an opportunity for exposure and personal branding.
The author expresses a desire to alleviate some of the tension within the Medium community through this light-hearted and engaging activity.
By providing a referral link and offering help, the author shows a willingness to support new Medium members and aspiring writers financially and professionally.
My VIDEO for the MWT Challenge
I Recited One of My Poems On Camera and It Didn’t Hurt a Bit!
Will you join me this month in the Medium Writers Talent Challenge?

Hello, hello, hello! I’m excited because I actually went ahead and created a short video for my entry in the video challenge I just launched.
Initially, I wanted this to be an actual talent showcase, so various Medium members — the brave ones — could do a little dance or sing, or whatever else they felt like wowing us with. This was the original idea.
Then, I got to worrying about the possibility of me accidentally encouraging everyone to break the copyright rules about videos.
Since I don’t actually know what the rules are, I decided against making this a challenge that required music — problem solved.
So in the final update about the challenge, I instructed interested Medium members to simply choose one of their stories to talk about or recite a passage from. I even extended the time from 1 minute to 2 minutes.
You can read or recite from your:
Poetry
Fiction writing
Non-fiction stories
Personal experiences
This is your two minutes of fame and your moment to shine, so do what you want to do. Yes — self promotion is allowed. Hell, why not?
Go for it you guys!
A short poem that tells you about who I am
In order to show everyone how painless this whole thing can be, I created my own video to submit as part of this challenge.
Don’t worry —this isn’t really cheating, since everyone is a winner, there’s no voting taking place, and there’s nothing actually being given away.
Besides, I had to go ahead and throw my hat in the ring, so I could try to motivate the rest of you scaredy cats.
Please take a few moments to enjoy my submission — TWO MINUTES and eight seconds to be exact.
This poem, and the story I originally published with the poem, can be read by going here: Don’t Blink and Miss it!
Final Thoughts
Just as I mentioned in the video, and in the related stories leading up to this challenge; tensions are high in the community. So why not let this fun little challenge lighten things up a little.
If you’d like to create a video and join in on the fun, it’s easy. Simply publish a story (like I did with this one) and be sure to include your video.
Video Length: Mine was just over 2 minutes long, so I suggest staying in the range of 1–2 minutes so people don’t tune out.
Video Contents: You can introduce yourself and use the time to share whatever you want, including promoting a story that you’ve written.
Submission: Just self publish the story yourself and be sure to include the proper TAG so it can be discovered, along with the other “MWT Challenge” stories.
I’ll be hoping to see and enjoy more videos as the month progresses on, so give it some thought folks, and take this opportunity to introduce yourself to your fellow members — in a more personal way.
That’s right, plus I can HELP YOU START EARNING MONEY TOO! Thousands of writers on Medium got started just like you — with nothing more than a DESIRE to write. You could be writing stories and personal experiences just like this, and getting paid! So what are you waiting for? Join us 😄
