TRAVEL
I Really Did This In Melaka…
Please don’t laugh. It looks funny, but it worked great!

I can be pretty picky when I’m travelling with regards to hygiene and cleanliness. Last October was the first time I travelled since Covid, so I was even more paranoid! Yes, I did use wipes to clean up the hotel room before putting my stuff down. 😊
Now our room in Melaka had hangers. But I wasn’t going to use them. I brought my own clothesline and figured I’d find a way to hang my clothes. I’ve done this before and found a clothesline SUPER useful! It’s also easy to bring and adds little weight to luggage.
I found a problem when I entered the hotel room. There was no place to hang the clothesline! I panicked a little. Where was I going to hang my stuff? I searched high and low for a connection point I could use. There was none anywhere. The bathroom was also very small and there wasn’t enough room to hang the clothesline.
It was time to get creative. My clothesline didn’t stretch far enough to be hooked between the two doors. So I grabbed one of their hangers! It worked! I was afraid the hanger would snap, but it held its place. I also had to drag a chair to keep the door open because it kept closing. 🤣
After a bit of sweating and fiddling, I finally figured it out. Yay! It took a bit of time, but given the situation, it was the perfect solution.
When we were in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, I did the same thing. It went much more smoothly. There was a random hook on the wall and I managed to get the hooks between this space. It was sturdy and stretched perfectly for the towels to dry.
Success!

I like to think of this as a nice little travel hack. It can take some creativity to find a place to use your clothesline, but it’s very useful! You can save on bringing socks and underwear as well, since you can wash and hang them.
They will be clean and dry for you the very next day. Fantastic!
What do you think? Will you try bringing a clothesline with you on your next trip? Please share your thoughts with me in the comment section!
