I Reached 1,500 Followers
Learning through the journey.
A BIG THANKS to everyone who hit the follow button. Thank you for all the engagement. Your support helps me to continue the journey. In my 1000 follower story, I said I would write more. I have, but it’s been very interesting to learn the truth about my current situation.
I started this journey without realizing the amount of work it would take. It’s taken time to get to a place where I was comfortable writing consistently. I’m glad I started with some ignorance.
It’s better to start and find your way than not to start at all.
It had been quite some time since I last had a well-organized and structured work schedule. When I first began my writing journey, I had the luxury of writing whenever and, however I wanted. There was nothing I had to accomplish every day. I had no time constraints.
Don’t get me wrong, I used to have a very heavy work schedule. All that went away. Then I started another journey where I had a lot of things to do, but there was no pressure or reason to do them. All that changed when I started writing.
I started writing with no plan or goal. I posted one story a week for four weeks, skipped a month, then posted 4 more stories. Then I stopped. I never looked at follower numbers or any other numbers. I knew nothing about the platform.
Getting to 1,500+ followers has been a pleasant journey. I would not have gotten here without starting to write. It is because I decided to start. It allowed me to learn and grow. Going from 0 followers to 1,500+ followers and from 0 stories to 83 stories means there has to be growth and learning.
There’s no way you can do anything repeatedly without learning and growing. Especially if you want to be better.
I recently wrote I Set a Goal of Writing Consistently This Month and I Missed It. As you read it, you’ll see it didn’t work out. Once again, I learned I was not quite ready to step into the consistent flow of writing daily.
I am so happy I tried, I planned, and I didn’t succeed. The joy of knowing I didn’t accomplish what I planned is more than the joy of accomplishing it the first time. It took a month to try, and it didn’t work. It takes patience, determination, learning, growing, and accepting that I did not reach my goal.
I have learned so much. If I had not documented what I noticed, I would be lost now. I would not know how to approach the coming months. I wouldn’t know what to change and what to keep.
Not reaching your goals is a learning and growth experience.
A word of encouragement
You have to start. Begin the project or journey you have been waiting to start. Expand your knowledge and gain experience. Push out everything that is holding you back. Your success awaits you.
The only way to grow is to start. Start writing, start your project, start your business. Just start. You’ll never know what lessons you’ll learn or what experiences you’ll have if you don’t start. A thousand opportunities may come. If you don’t start, they all mean nothing. It’s the only way to fight ignorance.
Embrace failure and not succeeding the first time. It is a good pill to swallow. Difficult, but worth it. Never give up. Never stop learning and growing. Your experience is what separates you from everyone else.
Be yourself. Love yourself. Love the journey.
