I Quit Alcohol for 30 Days. Here’s What Happened

I was never on the verge of overdoing it with alcohol or becoming addicted just that lately it had become routine every 2–3 days to get home from work and open a bottle of wine.

I basically felt it was the easiest way to unwind after a tiring day at work only to realize that it was extremely wrong to do so. So in November right after my birthday I decided to give up alcohol completely.

What happened was amazing so I decided to write this article to advise you all to give it a try.

First of all in the morning after consuming alcohol I felt extremely tired without mood and happy only after the second glass of wine. Now after 30 days without alcohol my mood is extremely good, I feel motivated and focused to carry out my plans.

In addition the quality of sleep has improved considerably. When I used to drink alcohol I used to wake up at night a lot because I needed to hydrate. This doesn’t happen now and I think that getting better sleep also helps me at work to be more productive and less nervous in stressful situations.

The money I used to spend on a bottle of wine about $8–10 I chose to put aside so at the end of the month doing a simple calculation about $150 I chose to invest in a mutual fund that offers dividends 4% per year. It’s not a lot but do the math on what it means for a year. 1800$/year is not bad right?

These are probably just a few of the benefits that deciding not to drink alcohol for at least another 30 days has brought me.
