My heart in splinters

Sorrow living without you

The sun will not rise

“I never want to live without you.”

Ya’aburnee is an Arabic word that describes the hope that you will die before your loved one because it would be unbearable to live without them.

If you enjoyed this poem, have a look at my book, We Swallow Light. It’s an exploration of events in a past life and a refreshing take on overcoming pain and the joy of finding love.
