100-WORD MEMOIR
I Never Got the Courage to Ask Her Out
Beautiful, blue eyes and adorable laugh, lived just two houses down

I’d squirt Polo cologne on before I went outside to play football in the front yard in hopes I’d run into her.
Buffy Stokes, my junior-high crush.
Big beautiful, blue eyes. The cutest little laugh that enticed you to laugh.
I’d stare googly-eyed across my history class at her, yearning to ask her out.
Her yapping dachshund used to escape, and then Buffy would come down with that glowing smile and thank me for rescuing Duchess.
Then the moving van arrived.
Her dad got a new job in Cincinnati.
I never got the courage to ask her out.
Thank you Kiki Walter for the fabulous writing prompt.
