I needed to raise $3,000 fast — Here’s what I did

Last week, my husband got off work and was driving my car to an out-of-town appointment.

He got hit by a drunk driver.

Luckily, everyone was okay, but, but my car was not.

We’re still waiting to hear back from the insurance company, but, we’re pretty sure it’s going to be totaled.

So, in the next week or so, I’ll be replacing it with another car and starting the car shopping process.

I wanted to raise $3,000 for a down payment on this upcoming large purchase.

This is how I planned to do it…

How I raised $3,000 fast for an upcoming purchase

First, I didn’t technically NEED to raise $3,000.

I can pull it from my bank account but, I didn’t want to deplete my funds. Instead, I put myself up to the challenge of raising this money myself.

So, this is what I did.

I hustled like crazy. Seriously.

Somehow, it worked, and through that hustle, manifestation, or a combination of the two, I raised the money.

Here’s the proof…

I had been negotiating a brand deal with a company that reached out to me. The magic number they threw out, was $3,000/month.

The exact amount I needed.

When I saw the number, I was flabbergasted, as this was the exact amount I needed to raise!

How this fell into my lap?

First, I make sure to put my business email out there as much as I can.

It’s in my Medium profile, my TikTok profile, and basically all the places you can find my business online.

As a result, I get emails from people every week.

Some are brand collaboration requests, some are offers for freebies, requests to work together or JV on a project, asks to perform services or do work for me, etc.

It’s a mix of all the above.

And, I love it!

Except the scam emails, do NOT love those.

So, that’s been really helpful for me, just putting my email out there.

Next, being proactive in contacting brands and companies I want to work with.

It’s how I’ve secured a good bit of my brand deals as a content creator.

I shared in my newsletter this week four sources I personally use to find companies to pitch for brand deals.

So, this weekend, I’m off to start car shopping, having met the challenge I set for myself. It feels great.

Have you ever challenged yourself like this before?

Did it work out?
