I Moved to a New Country, Set a Record On Medium, and Launched a New Product
Here is what happened in October 2023.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you might know this story is part of my digital diary.
Every month, I share the most significant events that happened to me and what I’ve learned and achieved.
In the previous months, I celebrated my first anniversary as a solopreneur, my website turned 2, I went to a driving school, and much more.
I enjoy rereading my stories since they always remind me how far I’ve come, thanks to being persistent and believing in myself even if no one’s supporting me.
October 2023 was intense and chaotic because I was preparing to relocate to Canada.
It was a tough decision since my entire experience of living abroad has been stressful and often lonely. Nevertheless, an inability to come back to my home country forced me to make this harsh decision and move even further from my family.
Nevertheless, I wasn’t afraid of coming to Canada because I knew my entire online business would move with me.
By now, Canada has been treating me well with friendly people, fast services, and sunny days.
A fun fact
I returned to Canada exactly ten years after coming here for the first time as a visitor.
It was October 2013. I remember that moment clearly. I’ve never thought I’d be back. Well, here I am. Life is unpredictable.
I hit a new Medium record
My monthly Medium target has been seven articles for a long time.
You can call me a slow writer, but I am physically unable to write more high-quality articles.
Whenever I want to write for the sake of quantity, my brain refuses to work.
A year ago, I could write up to seven articles on Medium and a maximum of two for my website. Today, I publish content on Medium and my website and write optimized articles for my clients. That’s an improvement, sort of.
I published only four articles on Medium in October 2023, including the one I wrote during a 10-hour flight.
Nevertheless, it seems my consistent writing pays off. Despite being less active on Medium, my views have grown to 40.5k+, and my monthly income has doubled.
I guess it has something to do with the latest Medium updates. If yes, then Medium has finally started rewarding its content writers.

I launched a new SEO product
The first ebook I’ve launched, “How to Write Blog Posts That Hit the Google Front Page,” is a success story!
I’ve sold over 220 copies and made $6,300+ from this ebook. In fact, I am close to making five figures from ebook sales on Gumroad.
It’s the best proof that my strategies work!
I spent one year willing to create a new SEO product. However, I’ve always had excuses.
Last month, I spent three days working on “SEO Checklist for New Websites.” I checked existing articles and similar products only to realize there was so much confusing content and unsolicited advice.
As an SEO expert who’s worked with multiple client websites and has grown my own website, I know some things should be done immediately, while other tasks can wait.
My new 30-page SEO checklist contains tasks you should do immediately after launching a website to set it up for success. Furthermore, I explain why it’s important and how to implement them.
I launched the checklist before Halloween and made a generous offer to my email subscribers. The response was phenomenal!

What’s next?
I’ve already set up plans for November 2023, which include publishing content on Medium, growing my ebook sales, and preparing a Black Friday campaign.
In reality, I’ll do more since I manage client work and my website, too. However, it will depend on my availability.
I’m a newcomer in Canada who has to deal with many challenges, including finding a place to stay in Ontario, getting a local driving license, and aligning my business with the local regulations.
As always, so much is on my plate, but I must handle it.
