I Miss You

A Poem

I miss you in the daytime I miss you late at night I miss you in the darkness And at first morning light

I miss you in the sunshine I miss you in the rain I miss the way you saw it all My truth, my heart, my pain.

I miss you when I’m happy I miss you when I’m sad I miss the person that I met When everything was so bad.

I miss you though I’m grateful I miss you though I hurt I miss you even when Those tears start to spurt

I miss you because you’re special I miss you because I cared I miss you because I loved The time that we shared

I miss you a lot my friend I miss you more than words I miss the way I’d feel with you As though I could fly like the birds

I miss you and it’s painful I miss you and I know I miss the implicit understanding The wordless to-and-fro

I miss you and it’s strange I miss you when I’m alone I miss that soul connection But I can’t pick up the phone

I miss you and I’m scared I miss you but I get I miss how you were there for me And I’m thankful that we met

I miss you though it’s odd I miss you quite a lot I miss you but when it comes to me I’m worried that you’ve forgot

I miss you in this way I miss you very much I miss you though we weren’t lovers We hardly even touched

I miss you but I’m innocent I miss you but I’m cool I miss that friend for life thing That’s all I want from you

I miss you but I understand I miss you but I’m aware I miss the conversations The closeness that was there

I miss you and your visions I miss you and those ideas I miss the inspiration you stirred in me And your ability to quell my fears

I miss you but I’m conflicted I miss you though I’m stable I miss you even though it was me Who took contact off the table

I miss you and I want to cry I miss you in every form I miss the liminal space we existed in The calm before the storm

I miss you and I comprehend I miss you but such is life I miss how you made a difference And it cuts me like a knife

I miss you through space and time I miss you all the while I miss you but I suspect you would Still think of me with a smile

I miss you but if I’m honest I miss you and I cope I miss our friendship but so might you And we’ll meet again I hope.
