I Miss (a response to Janny’s Heart)
A poem about cravings
Once a delight
Now deadly danger,
the warm sweet silk of milk chocolate
layered over crisp almonds
Sugared softness spreading across my tongue
the satisfying sharp crunch of nut in my teeth
Never again.
Like leaving a deadly lover,
Sometimes you must walk away forever.
With thanks for the prompt, and damn it for reminding me of what I REALLY wish I could still have, to janny’s heart.
