Summary

The website content describes a personal blog post by a State Auditor who shares a poem written for their wedding, reflecting on the evolution of their understanding of love and the unique use of poetry in their pre-wedding video.

Abstract

The author of the blog, who initially intended to use their Medium platform for various types of writing, stumbled upon a poem they had written for their wedding. This discovery led to a reflection on the nature of love and relationships, emphasizing the importance of recognizing when to let go and when something is truly meant for you. The poem, titled "DRINK," metaphorically explores the journey of love through the imagery of drinking wine and coffee, symbolizing the separate lives of the author and their spouse before they met. The author expresses gratitude for their husband and the experiences that led them to each other. The poem was later incorporated into their pre-wedding video, set to the song "Take me to Church" by MILCK, as a novel approach to capturing the depth of their relationship. The author concludes by inviting readers to share their own sentimental acts for loved ones, highlighting the value of artistry in celebrations.

I Made A Poem for Our Wedding

Creating novelty in using poems for Pre-wedding Videos

Some of our pre-wedding photos

I earlier planned to have my Medium platform as my private writing space, tackling only work and life-related issues, poems, short stories, and scoops that spark my interest. Then I come across my wedding poem while scanning over some of my old files. I was thinking if this could be somehow worth sharing, whether or not my understanding of marriage and love is similar to others.

Background of the Poem

Before meeting my husband, I had a different concept about (no matter how cliché it may sound) love. In the past, I honestly thought, how we solely have the power to control and save everything in our relationships. Even if your partner continuously despises you, you are compelled to tirelessly save it by endless chasing, persevering, and enduring only to find out these things break you even more.

It is only by understanding that great love comes when you already have that wisdom to perceive that what belongs to others will never be yours, and someone who is meant for you will always choose to stay.

Bliss, Peace, Security, and serenities are the fruits and signs of a happy relationship. And indeed I am more than lucky to have met my husband. Whether how bad I have to go through, knowing it led me to him made it all worthwhile.

Pre-wedding video concept

So I wrote a poem about our story entitled “Drink” which was succeedingly used for our pre-wedding videos in “Take me to Church” by MILCK background music, wherein my impartial point of view, the concept has created value and depth to pre-wedding videos couples would love to reminisce in the coming periods. So without further ado, here’s our Wedding Poem.

DRINK

Lush of time poured in his sip of wine Plum, vivid, seeming full, Gushes in grace by the cup’s embrace His thirst quenched his heart’s rule.

All seemed forgotten, It had cleared his mind, Now he is more than ready To take another sip of wine.

In the window of a soaking dream Sits a lady writing in disdain, Staring at the cup of her coffee To its taste, she wishes to remain.

It was through a sip of time Both wander and suddenly meet, Looked like they were lovers Married at the whirl of one’s greet.

They held in the feast of love And then in an instant, in a blink, As if someone has to return the luck Both were back at the sip of their drink.

They were in the time true The self that was present, Those days where hearts are blue At the state, they will wish to forget.

Their drink so generous and kind Offered a love it creates, Showed them a little glimpse Of their life that awaits.

Both cherished, both simmered Both ran on their drink, For every glass will soon be empty To fill the fate the souls seek.

I always love how celebrations reinvent and promote artistry. Personally, I love to see works that are thoroughly crafted and thought about. How about you, what are the memorable and sentimental things you did for the people you love?
