I Made $500 from Newsbreak Without Realizing It
Newsbreak is the writing platform that loves paying its creators!

Newsbreak has officially become the writing platform of my choice when it comes to earning money. I’ve only been blogging for about a year now and never expected any real results from it.
The Newsbreak platform changed everything for me. I got attached to writing when I was deployed overseas and now it’s one of my biggest side hustle incomes.
If you’ve got a solid portfolio of writing and can write stories about relevant topics, you can be a contributor on Newsbreak and earn as well!
Initially, I was part of their early-bird promotion where you were paid $1,000 every month so long as you shared four 1,000 word articles, and now the promo is different.
Here are my two cents on the new Newsbreak earning model that can earn creators up to $1,500 per month for the next few months!
My Newsbreak Journey
At the time of hitting my fourth month, my following looks like this:

I am nowhere near being one of the top writers on Newsbreak. If you want to see a beast that’s crushing it on the platform, it’s Matt Lillywhite.

For the past month, I haven’t been writing as much and had only digressed from posting because I thought I was out of the running for earning on Newsbreak.

Apparently, articles that get accepted can earn you anywhere from $25 per article to $60 per article depending on how much they like it.

This is an example of one of my articles that earned $60 base pay and then revenue attached to it depending on how many views it received.
Stephen Dalton told me about this new earnings model and it fired me up to put my head down and return to writing often! You can check him out here.
How I’m Approaching The Next Three Months
Since I passively earned $548 without actually trying, I am more motivated than ever to earn the potential $1,500 for this upcoming month!
I already enjoy writing, and the fact that I’m being compensated in such a nice way (even if it pays for my monthly bills), I want to keep it going!
Not every story I write is going to be news-related, in fact, almost none of mine are. My newsbreak stories are what I typically write about on Medium — fitness, investing, life lessons, and work-related topics.
Earning on Newsbreak isn’t forcing me to change what I already do, which is something I admire them for.
I plan to put out two-three articles a day from this point on. It’s what I love to do and it takes no more than two hours a day!
What This Means for Medium
It means absolutely nothing.
I’m staying on Medium because there is still massive earning potential here, and I’m just waiting for one of my stories to pop-off.
Until then, nothing really changes, just that my motivation to share inspirational stories with the world is heightened.
Medium takes care of amazing content. They spread it around like wildfire and the content is always rich. If you write for Medium and aren’t making brain-surgeon money overnight, don’t be deterred.
You’ll see me on here five years from now continuing to do what I love because it’s not all about the money.
It’s about helping people all over the world in any way possible and the rewarding feeling of hitting “publish” and sending your thoughts and. experience anywhere they want.
