I Made $10k in 30 Minutes — Here’s Why You Probably *Can’t* Do the Same
Let’s debunk unrealistic expectations about making money online

“I’m sure you want to take things to the next level and you know we can only cover a limited amount of content in this free webinar.”
That’s how I kicked off the sales pitch of my recent live webinar.
In the next 30 minutes, I made a revenue of more than $10,000 before my webinar was over.

Now, I could tell you that you can do the same. That you can make $10k in 30 minutes, repeat it once per month, and spend your remaining hours sipping margaritas in a luxurious beach club. But I won’t, because it’d be a big fat lie.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m by no means special, talented, or privileged.
I’m a 23-year-old girl who was living with her parents and covering most of her costs through study grants just two years ago.
But I did a lot of things most people aren’t willing to do — that’s why I won’t tell you you can easily make money online, be financially free, and live your best life, even though you technically can.
I started my journey as a digital entrepreneur 2.5 years ago by creating online courses and writing blog articles.
Most people believe 2.5 years is not a long period, but here’s what they overlook: Sometimes, intensity matters more than duration.
I sacrificed personal relationships, quit my business studies, and gave 110% almost every single day.
While everyone complained about lockdowns and restrictions, I spent the pandemic working my ass off, investing in myself and my business, and building a thriving community.
Don’t get me wrong: You didn’t do anything wrong if you spent the past months differently. Everyone’s path is different — I’m just trying to give you a realistic overview of mine.
The reality behind “$10k in 30 minutes”
I constantly see people sharing how they made X amount of money in Z amount of time.
And while they might technically be telling the truth, most of them don’t share the whole truth. Instead, they make it seem as if their results fell on their lap out of nothing.
I’ll be honest with you: Financial freedom was one of the things that motivated me to start my own business, but not the only one.
I could also earn a decent income working in a corporate, but I knew I’d hate living my professional life according to someone else’s rules.
What mattered more was the feeling of genuine freedom: Waking up whenever I want, working from a location of my choice, and choosing the clients I want to serve.
And while I now have all these privileges, I had to sacrifice the majority of my freedom for several months in order to build and scale an online business.
Here’s everything I did before making those $10k in 30 minutes:
- I built a highly engaged email list with 3,000 subscribers and an open rate of more than 35 % (that’s more than 10 % higher than the industry standard).
- I built an incredibly positive and helpful Facebook group with 5.5k members.
- I hosted 32 free live sessions and interviews in the past 12 months. These helped me to build a genuine relationship with my audience and make sure they trust me.
- I wrote almost 40 articles about my area of expertise in the past 15 months.
- I published 25 Youtube videos in the past 2.5 months.
- I have a boyfriend and business partner who has almost half a million students in his online courses across various platforms. He’s been creating online courses since 2015, mentored hundreds of startups in the past years, and is the strategy-brain of our business. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to create a fraction of the revenue through my programs. He’s building epic (and high converting) sales pages, making sure all the technical stuff works smoothly (at least most of the time), and allows me to focus on my zone of genius: writing and teaching.

In the past year, I spent 280+ hours working on that project that helped me make $10k in 30 minutes.
In the 30 days before the launch of the program, I invested 125 hours in the creation and marketing of the product.
(Yes, I’m tracking the time I spend working on different projects and if you’re an entrepreneur, I highly recommend you do the same.)
Admittedly, I could’ve drastically reduced that time investment by running ads.
So far, 100 % of our marketing and reach is organic and we’ve never run ads. This means that we probably spend more hours working than we had to, but it also means that our revenue (almost) equals profit as we don’t have any ad placement costs.
And to be honest, we deeply love what we’re doing, so we enjoy working.
But of course, we have various other costs and had to make several monetary investments before making those $10k in 30 minutes:
- We pay more than $1,000/year for our email marketing tool.
- We pay around $2,500/year for a tool to build our sales pages.
- We pay $1,200/year for our online course platform.
- And much, much more.
This is still just a fraction of the whole reality, but I guess you get the point.
When someone tells you they made X amount of dollars in a very short time, it’s always because they’ve made significant investments earlier.
Many people are trying to cover the fact that you need to do the damn work in order to make money — no matter if you’re making money online, offline, or on the moon.
You might win the lottery, but that’s pretty much the only way to “make money quickly” without lifting a finger.
In all other cases, big dreams and goals equal big action.
Don’t be fooled by people who claim that they’re making thousands of dollars in “just a few hours” or days without showing the messy behind-the-scenes.
Final thoughts
If you do it correctly, an online business can be the greatest amplifier for personal and financial freedom in the 21st century.
Of course, it’s not the right thing for everyone, but if you’re passionate about creating content and helping others, building your own digital empire has never been easier.
When I read books like Dotcom Secrets over two years ago, I knew I wanted to build a business that’d allow me to achieve financial freedom by supporting other people to create a life and career they genuinely love.
And ever since, I didn’t spend a second looking back.
Opportunities are everywhere and of course, you can turn your mind, words, ideas, and passion into a paycheck. And it surely has never been easier than now.
You just need to do something crazy that 99% aren’t willing to do: Ignoring the excuses and fighting for your dreams.
