I Launched My Second Digital Product!
That helped me earn $11 in one week
Back Story
Way back in December 2021, I discovered the world of digital products.
I came across various creators I follow online.
However, I didn’t do anything because I thought I didn’t have the skills to create anything.
I waited and waited until I become a professional.
But you know, sometimes, courage is just sitting around the corner.
In December 2022, I learned about Gumroad and launched my very first digital product.
I created an e-book to share my lessons and life experiences in a mini-guide to help people live healthier and happier.
It took me around 8 hours to write the book, plus a couple of hours editing in a Google document.
Build something so that you can practice.
I created my book cover on Canva, which took around 30 minutes.
I wrote a quick description of my book, which also took around 30 minutes.
Within two days, my digital product was ready, and I launched it on Gumroad for free.
And within one week, without any marketing or promotion, I managed to earn $11.
It was a free product, but people were kind enough to pay me.
With this, my motivation skyrocketed, and though how much money I made didn’t matter, I was building to practice the techniques.
If you want to create on the internet you need some learn basic skills:
- Learning to write. I write mostly on Medium, Newsletter, and LinkedIn.
- To create covers, I learned Canva
- To share little snippets of my essays, I learn how to Tweet.
I am not master of any of it, but curious to learn and grow.
Build something to give away for free
Most people ask me every day how much money I make online.
There is a thing that people don’t understand that the power of giving something away for free.
I want to earn money, everyone wants. I won’t deny that.
But before I want people to pay me, I need them to know me, like my writing.
I am here to make an impact, play the long game, and to encourage people to live healthier and happier.
Because You Matter!
So if you are an aspiring writer like me:
1- Don’t hesitate to give away things for free
2- Don’t hesitate to share your knowledge for free
3- Build in public, ask for feedback.
When you are giving something away for free you are gaining their attention.
You are trying to solve their problems.
Don’t get caught up turning into a money making machine.
Because in future, you will.
Build for free to practice and master skills
I build three other products for free so far.
They are not perfect, I know that.
But that’s the thing, without trying I wouldn't know how bad I am.
And where I need to improve.
So while I build my online products, I am practicing in public to build something amazing.
And I know for sure someday, I will.
So instead of waiting to achieve perfection
- Build yourself in public
- Identify the skills you need to learn
- Rinse and repeat until you get better and better..
Conclusion
From my first free-book on Gumroad I am managed to earn $48 in last 4 months.
If anything gets me jump out of bed every morning is to build my profile online and help people unleash their true potential.
That’s my intention and that is my goal, for sure.
That is certainly is enough for me to be fired up to build incredible stuff online and share with you all who has similar passion to build and create extraordinary things.
