PROMPTED EPIGRAPHIC POEM
I Know Where to Find You
My heart knows where you’ll be
“…for unless I am myself, I am nobody” ~ Virginia Woolf
I know where to find you, Seated near the bay — The place that sings within my heart Until this very day.
Hills soft rolling, kissing Gold and sandy shores — Where dazzling glints of azure sea My soul entwines with yours.
I lived, loved, and left you Far behind, my dear — But deep inside I always knew My self would find you here.
The rhythm of your heart Sings within my breast — Your smile through tears, tho’ older now, Is what we still do best.
I’ve come to whisper soft Hope upon your ear — Please turn your precious face to mine, I want to make this clear.
I’ve journeyed to the realm, That of you and me — Laid calm within that sacred place, The who, we longed to be.
What I found amazed me, Secrets I must share, Love nurtures all within its hand, That, which we are, is here!
I met me in the mist Spirit of the realm — Our ship was riding on calm seas, Creation at the helm.
Listen closely, precious Inner child of mine — Our dreams you hold within your heart Will seek you out in time.
I knew where to find me, Sprite of fern and sea — Your siren songs enticing call, My heart knew where I’d be!
