Summarize

I Have No Words

Maybe someday I will find them

I want to add something intelligent to the conversation about gun violence.

But I’m afraid I’ve got nothing.

All I can say is that when some very sick individual decides to take the lives of innocent people, it creates massive suffering in the lives of the loved ones left behind.

The best thing we can do to honor these beautiful souls (in my very humble opinion) is to commit to every fiber of our being to get to the root cause of violence. These horrible crimes are a symptom of a much deeper problem that has been around much longer than any of us have been alive.

There are no easy answers or quick fixes. No one person has a solution.

Maybe just admitting that this problem is difficult to solve is part of the solution.

Maybe admitting that our world is in need of help is part of the solution.

Maybe being compassionate towards the suffering families is part of the solution.

I don’t know.

As I said, I’m not sure I have anything intelligent to add to the conversation.

Author’s Note: This was written to honor those who have lost their lives recently in the mass shootings in the United States.
