I Have a Secret: I Have Yet to Scream from Fear During a Horror Movie
I know I have mentioned many times throughout my articles that I love horror. Let’s face it, I’m a huge horror fan. There is one problem.
I haven’t screamed from fear.
During a horror movie.
Why is that? Coming from someone that loves to be scared to death? I think it’s because I’m used to the ‘horror formula.’
The ‘horror formula’ consists of many concepts in horror:
- Jump scares
- A suspenseful build — up
- Terrifying visuals
- An expected bad ending for the characters in the story
- Horrifying monsters with amazing designs
- Crazy plot twists
And so on. I appreciate all horror concepts. It’s just…I don’t scream.
I would like to experience that one day. That is when I will know I have officially hit it.
‘The True Fear.’
That must be the best feeling in the world for all horror fans. If this makes me sound creepy or weird, I will embrace it. I love horror that much.
It’s a lovely genre that holds a special place in my heart.
(Picture an emoji of someone placing a hand over their heart, lol).
