This is how France is reacting to the war in Ukraine

Internationally, there is no reassuring news from Ukraine, the Russian army is constantly pounding civilian buildings and the population is holed up, either in the metro as in Kyiv, or in the basements of buildings. As soon as the curfew is lifted and people go out to find food, the missiles rain down. It is abominable, and the human losses are heavy both on the Russian side and on the Ukrainian side. This war makes no sense, Ukraine being a sovereign country. All of Europe participates in humanitarian aid and the reception of refugees. But since Ukraine is not part of NATO, all this aid stops at the border, and it is the humanitarian organizations that distribute it. France delivers arms to Ukraine so that they can resist the enemy, but we cannot intervene militarily without risking another world war, Putin threatening to resort to nuclear weapons. The Ukrainians are resisting with a courage that commands admiration. The couples have taken the children to safety all over Europe and the men are returning to fight. It’s a hellish situation, and shortages are starting to appear, because Ukraine was exporting a lot of cereals, especially to Africa. Inflation is galloping and prices are rising at a breakneck pace, especially fuel, gas and electricity, as well as food. Who will stop Putin in his murderous madness.? This can only come from within because diplomacy and dialogue are powerless against this man determined to recreate the USSR.

Not very encouraging news, plus the reappearance of a variant of COVID. When will we get our heads above water? Wait and see.
