I have 500 Followers but Low Steady Views
It’s the beginning of a new month in 2022 and I’ve noticed that I reached 500 followers on Medium recently. I started writing back in October 2021 and didn’t expect to reach this many followers a few months later. I want to say thank you to the people who have decided that they like to read my articles and the followers that have been consistently commenting on my work. I want to celebrate this milestone with you by saying thank you and I hope to continue writing on this platform and reading from my favorite writers.
A few months ago I read that the follower count doesn’t really matter when it comes to views on Medium. It must be true since I’ve been getting a steady 50 to 60 views a day with or without writing in a publication. I find that I do get more views and reads however when I do submit to a publication I am thankful to those that have permitted me to write with them. It’s been fun up until now and I hope to write more.
As I continue to write, I realize the importance of building an audience. One you can gather and take with you since they are your tribe and raving fans who support your writing. They would be the first to receive insight from my writing journey and news about my career. That is why I started a newsletter, called Creative Journey to collect the emails of readers who share similar interests with me in art, photography, writing, and life. I hope to take this year to grow my Substack, Creative Journey into a mass audience who enjoys what I write and grow in a community of creatives. If that sounds interesting to you, you can subscribe to my newsletter here. I hope to hear from you as I am always encouraged by your comments and feedback on here.
With that said, I am greatly encouraged by the community here on medium. Especially those who take the time to read what I write and leave comments on my articles. It’s amazing to see how simple words can bring us together and how many people can relate to a similar topic. It makes me feel like I’m doing something good and that makes me happy. So I hope to continue to grow and write with you.
Thanks again for reading.
