I Hate Writing, I Like Having Written — Dorothy Parker
Are you one of those writers who, since childhood, loved writing in their journal? You can’t stop writing even when you wake up at night?
I admire you, I envy you.
To me, writing is the result of an effort. When I have to write I can waste my time in different ways including: cleaning my house, going to the supermarket, and talking to people on the train while I should be writing.
What keeps me writing is my belief that I can practice consistency and a sense of responsibility towards myself: I decided I want to improve my writing, so I don’t want to give up.
Most of all, the community of writers on Medium is a great support and a challenge. After I have published, I feel at peace with myself, and I finally feel welcomed by other writers.
