I hate wasting food
Every Chinese kid can recite the following classical poem that teaches us to cherish food.
Hoeing the grass under the noonday sun, His sweat drips on the ground beneath. Who knows that on the dining plate, Every single grain means hardship.
When cooking or ordering I pay attention to the ratio of the number of people dining to the amount of food, to avoid unnecessary waste.
However, I can’t always control it. Some foods need to be eaten immediately after being opened, but they were not. I might buy too much food. As a result, some food still looks good but has already expired.
That food must be thrown away!
Yet I have struggled with this behavior, ethically and economically.
Now, I realize that I’m not perfect and must forgive myself even if I discard food.
