I Had The Worst Case of Imposter Syndrome

Are you surprised to hear that I struggle with imposter syndrome?

If you are wondering if this is something that only newbie writers suffer from, then you’re wrong.

It especially hits hard when an article does well. I don’t mean monetarily. On occasion, I’ve refrained from responding to comments because the love and kindness shown in the comments overwhelm me.

I don’t feel I deserve it. That is my past speaking. I still am a work in progress about appreciating myself.

At other times, it’s the self-critique that’s crippling.

Last week was an example.

However, writing is essential for me. Not only in a fulfilling sense but a therapeutic one.

Sometimes, the best way to break through it is to try something different.

I was nervous! But it worked, thanks to encouragement from photographer friends on Medium👇
