Summary

The author describes a situation where a disagreement over the character of El Professor from "Money Heist" leads to a playful argument with their partner.

Abstract

The author recounts a morning where their casual commentary on El Professor's leadership style in a blog post sparked a lively debate with their partner. Despite recognizing El Professor's genius in Netflix's "La Casa de Papel" (Money Heist), the author expresses a preference for more hands-on leaders like Berlin and acknowledges El Professor's more cautious, chess-like approach. The partner, a self-proclaimed expert on the show, defends El Professor's methods and his role as an external asset to the heist team. The author humorously concedes defeat in the argument, likening their partner's debating skills to those of a Jedi master, and they ultimately find common ground in their mutual dislike for the character Tokyo. The article concludes with a tongue-in-cheek lesson about choosing battles wisely when arguing with a significant other.

Opinions

  • The author views El Professor as akin to an absent multinational company manager, preferring leaders who are more present and involved, like Berlin.
  • Despite admiring El Professor, the author criticizes his cautious and distant leadership style, comparing it to a chess player who can't think quickly.
  • The partner has a high opinion of El Professor, considering him a genius who is integral to the heist team due to his ability to follow the plan and support from the outside.
  • Both the author and their partner agree that Tokyo is a problematic character whose impulsive actions jeopardize the group's safety.
  • The author humorously acknowledges their partner's superior arguing skills, likening the experience to a Jedi master debating a Padawan.

I Got My Ass Kicked Because of El Professor

The photo’s a Youtube video preview.

I know that you know who El Professor is. He is the genius villain from Netflix’s La Casa de Papel, or as it is also known, Money Heist.

It was early in the morning and I was drinking my coffee. It was a lazy Saturday. I hear from the other room:

How could you write that?

I knew that I was about to get my ass kicked, but I did not know why at that point.

El Professor is not like that! What movie did you see?

I remember well that article, I’ve written that I see El Professor as an absent multinational company manager. I like him, but I like more the type of leaders that are always present. Berlin was a good leader, despite the fact he was egocentric. Also, Palermo has good skills, but unfortunately, he is nuts. I liked the fact that he cares about people, but I also agree with Palermo, that he’s always distant and playing safe. He seems to be similar to a chess play who cannot think fast enough about the next moves.

She read the article on my blog and this made her go crazy. And you know how women are, they are Jedi masters when it comes to arguing.

My partner has constantly repeated that El Professor was a genius and he was just following the plan. The people inside the Royal Mint needed someone on the outside and Sergio was the perfect person to do such a difficult job.

I knew that I was incapable of winning this and did not try anything bold. If she was a Jedi Knight, I was just a little Padawan playing with the lightsaber, compared to her.

The argument stopped when we both agreed that we do not like Tokyo. She is too crazy for everybody’s good and her actions put the team in danger.

The moral of the story is to never argue with your pretty half unless it is a life or death matter. And if you argue, you need to do this well enough, in order not to get your ass kicked.
