“I got here on my own.” Is this true?
My ‘this or that’ challenge was a mental tug-of-war between AI-assisted or wholly manual or people-assisted endeavors.
The admission, “I got here on my own” is absolutely true if I walked or ran. But, is it the whole truth if I used anything to help me get there? What universal rules govern this statement to make sure it remains valid with no caveats?

- Is it true if I drove a vehicle?
- Is it true if I took an Uber or the subway or a flight?
- Is it true if I had someone draw me a map that I followed?
- Is it true if I had a dream or vision that led me here?
- Is it true if I had another person talk me through directions as I went along?
- Is it true if I read about this place in a book or online and decided to visit?
- Is it true if a person on the way re-directed me when I got lost?
- Is it true if I used a compass, google maps or GPS device to navigate?
- Is it true if I followed a trail or marked path?
- Is it true if I, in a wheelchair being pushed by someone, directed them to take me to this place?
- Is it true if I used a guidebook or travel guide to get here?
- Is it true if I followed a friend who knew the way?
- Is it true if I stumbled upon this place accidentally?
- Is it true if I received a message or sign from a higher power that directed me here?
Half of these scenarios were generated at my prompting, by ChatGPT. The idea was sparked after I read the AI-Generated Content Policy article in Illumination. To be sure, I agree with the policy and it got me thinking about testing the edges.
