I Got a Cupcake Doll With my Medium Earnings

I really like dolls, no not because I’m a girl, but because I really like being a part of the community and the World at large, and to genuinely support all sorts of others to the best of my ability. Dolls are a symbol of beauty and love, to me.
Being creative (a reader, writer, researcher, blogger, Medium writer, technical writer, crafts woman, for example) I have objects around me which instill in me a sense of what I value and enjoy.
Well, I run lots of WordPress blogs and I have a little collection of Madame Alexander dolls and other dolls, including 2 beautiful sea-shell dolls.
There is a link to Pages from my blog “Our Lovely World” showing some of my dolls below, in case you are interested in seeing them.

Recently I came across the Tonka / Kenner cupcake dolls, and these are really sweet as the doll itself is tucked into a “shell” or cupcake case of flexible plastic which one turns inside out to pop out the doll.

The cupcake lid is the hat for the doll.

When I first joined Medium in November 2018, I signed up for the MPP or the Medium Partner Program “for fun”, never thinking for a moment that I would earn anything near a dollar from it.
Imagine the pleasant surprise when I found that my earnings steadily increased after my first few months of writing on Medium, with a consistent number of Stories published per week and with sharing my Stories on various Facebook Groups! 😃

At the time of writing this,Wednesday 12 June 2019, Medium states that it will pay me $14.17 USD and that’s for the 1st week of June.
I am happy if my monthly payment reaches $5 USD which will cover my Medium Membership fee.
The Mar 25 — Apr 29 payment period was for 5 weeks because there are not the same number of weeks in each calendar month.
My Apr 29 — May 27 payment included $10 for a Story that I wrote, which was curated. I wrote about how the Story was curated, and I’m sharing my experiences at the link below. 😃
If you take away $10 from the May total of $26.69 that leaves $16.69 for the month, which is perfectly good.
I am working part-time at the moment, with a mortgage and medical expenses, and may be working until I am 77 to pay off my house. I’m blessed to be able to be in the MPP.
I could have spent my earnings on food or used it to pay a bill, but I decided to reward myself for “my services to the World” and I used my March / April earnings to get myself something new and pleasant and exciting.
That something was Taffy, the Cupcake Doll.
I have a “sweet tooth” and some say that I am sweet. Be that as it may, I love that Taffy reminds me about being sweet and to connect with others, and to be grateful for our connections and support.
My cupcake doll, bought with my Medium earnings, reminds me that “no person is an island.”
Thank you to all my supporters. 💙 💚 💛
