Chapter 4
The sunlight peeked through the curtains, signalling the start of a new day. Last night’s events played on repeat in my mind, Marie’s tearful revelation still fresh in my memory. She had stayed over, seeking refuge from the storm brewing in her marriage, during which I’d caught a tantalizing glimpse of her naked after her shower. The thought of her beautiful body made my cock stir and as I was alone, my hand went to it, caressing it to life but then the shrill sound of my alarm pierced the quiet and I reached out to silence it, lying there for a few minutes to come around fully.
The other events of the last night played out like a vivid dream in my head as I lay there. The intense conversation with Irene. The discussions with Sue about her plans with James and then us wanking together. The call from James and Sue’s commitment to going through with her plan to get James out of her system.
Earlier, in the hushed moments after dawn, I’d heard Sue and her sister talking downstairs while I was still in bed. Marie had finally spoken to Clive on the phone, then left, heading home to properly discuss what their future held. Sue had given her solid advice, in my opinion. Communication was the only way forward. Marie had every right to demand honesty from Clive and a change in his ways. It would be a shame to toss away their long and — up until now, happy — marriage, without at least having an open and candid conversation.
I had my work day ahead of me but Sue had already left, her job starting before mine and as I rose from bed, thoughts of today’s impending encounter between my wife and James lingered in the back of my mind. I wondered what was going to happen tonight when she went to his house and my imagination ran wild as I showered but I refrained from wanking off. I needed to keep my wits about me today, not spend the day constantly sneaking off to the bathroom to jerk off. I couldn’t eat breakfast because of the knots of anxiety in my stomach and even when I was walking through the familiar streets towards the office, surrounded by the hustle-bustle of the city, I couldn’t shake the feeling of foreboding that weighed on my shoulders.
The routine of work also offered little distraction, my thoughts consumed by the thoughts of James running into Sue at their workplace. Perhaps they wouldn’t even wait until tonight. Something could happen between them before the work day ended, theoretically, at least.
Throughout the day, I found myself counting down the hours until the evening, the weight of Sue’s tryst with her boss a shadow over my thoughts until finally, the workday drew to a close and I gathered my things and made my way home.
As I stepped through the door, I couldn’t help but feel a now familiar sense of apprehension when Sue wasn’t home. I wasn’t expecting her to be. Her plans included going to James’s house straight from work but there was always the possibility of those plans falling through, like plans often did. But they hadn’t. She’d gone through with it. And then, when my phone beeped the alert tone for a text, I scooped it out of my pocket, scanning Sue’s message eagerly.
“Hey,” it read. “I’m on my way to James’s place now. Don’t expect me home until very late. Will update you if anything changes. Love you.”
‘Love you’ didn’t feel right, considering what she was going to James’s house to do.
“Okay,” I replied, “Thanks for letting me know. Be safe. Love you too.”
Sue’s reply came back almost immediately. “I will. I’m excited but nervous too, for some reason. Talk to you later.”
I slid my phone back into my pocket, relieved that she’d at least updated me on the situation but now I realized I couldn’t just sit at home, waiting and fretting over what might transpire. It would drive me mad. I decided to reach out to Dale, my old friend who I knew would help occupy me for the evening if he was free. Retrieving my phone, I dialled his number, hoping he wasn’t too busy.
The phone rang several times before Dale picked up. “Hey, Phil, what’s up?” his voice crackled through the line.
“Hi,” I replied, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside me. “Any chance you’re free tonight? Thought we could catch up, maybe grab a drink or something?”
There was a brief pause before Dale responded, “Yeah, sure, I’m free. Meet you at the usual spot in twenty?”
“Sounds good,” I confirmed, a sense of relief flooding over me. “See you there.”
With plans in motion, I felt a little better and as I prepared to leave, a thought struck me. Sue had mentioned showing Dale more of her photos, and maybe even the video, if I wanted. It made sense; after all, Dale was one of my closest friends, and he knew about our situation, even if he didn’t know all the details or what Sue was up to tonight.
I hesitated for a moment before making a decision. Fuck it. Why not?
Grabbing my backpack, I retrieved Sue’s photos and her laptop with the video from the drawer where they were kept hidden. It felt strange, almost voyeuristic, carrying around evidence of our tangled lives. Yet, as I tucked them into my bag, a sense of purpose settled over me. Perhaps sharing this burden with Dale would lighten the weight on my shoulders, or maybe I just needed someone else to confirm that what was happening wasn’t all as weird and screwed up as it seemed to be.
With the weight of Sue’s secret tucked away in my bag, I made my way out the door, a mixture of apprehension and determination guiding my steps. Tonight was going to be another turning point in our relationship, whether I was ready for it or not.
Shortly afterwards, I found Dale at our usual spot in the pub, nursing a pint and looking like he hadn’t slept in days. As soon as he saw me, his face lit up with a broad grin, quickly followed by a frown of concern.
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” he exclaimed, gesturing for me to join him.
“Something like that,” I muttered, sliding into the seat opposite him. “I’ve got lots to tell you, Dale.”
“Yeah, well,” Dale leaned in, his curiosity piqued. “Grab a drink first, then you spill the beans.”
I did just that, then sat back down, taking a long drink from my beer before launching into the story, recounting the events of the past few days. I told him about the temporary break with Sue, Marie’s revelation about Clive, and Sue’s plans for tonight.
Dale listened intently, his brow furrowing as he processed the information. “Wow,” he muttered, shaking his head. “I thought you’d got through all that and come out the other side when you went home after staying at ours for a while. That’s heavy stuff.”
“Yeah, tell me about it,” I replied, my voice heavy with emotion. “But there’s more.”
I reached into my bag and pulled out the envelope of photos and Sue’s laptop, placing them on the table between us. Dale’s eyes widened in surprise as he took in the contents.
“Are those…?” he began, his voice trailing off as he glanced at me for confirmation.
“Yeah,” I confirmed, my heart pounding in my chest. “The legendary photos of Sue and even a video of her and James.”
Dale’s excitement was palpable as he reached for the laptop, eager to see for himself before pausing and looking around at the other pub patrons milling around. “A couple more drinks and then we’re off to my place to look at these properly. Also, I need to talk to you about something but it can wait until we’re at mine.”
“Are you sure?” I asked, concerned for my friend. “You can ask me now if you like. I’ve been talking a lot about Sue and me but if there’s something important, ask.”
“No,” Dale shook his head, brushing his brown hair back from his head nervously. “It’s better if I talk to you about it at home, with Jenny.”
With Jenny? Was he having relationship issues now too? That wasn’t good. I hoped it wasn’t anything to do with me. The fallout from discovering Sue’s past had already affected enough relationships. I didn’t want that to spread to my best friend and his lovely wife.
I put the laptop and photos back in my back and we enjoyed a couple more beers, talking about more common subjects such as football and politics, but then as time rolled on, during which I had no updates from Sue, we decided it was time to make our way to his house.
As we walked, talking the whole way, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at the pit of my stomach. The weight of what might be transpiring between Sue and James hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over our evening. Yet, there was a strange sense of relief in confiding to Dale, sharing the burden of anxiety.
Dale and Jenny’s house was nestled in a quiet corner of the neighbourhood, a quaint two-story terrace with a well-tended garden and a welcoming aura. As we stepped inside, the warmth of the familiar surroundings instantly made me feel at home, especially when Jenny greeted us with a warm smile as we entered the living room, her blonde hair cascading in loose waves around her shoulders.
“Phil, it’s good to see you,” she said, her voice tinged with genuine warmth as she embraced me in a brief hug. “Dale’s been looking forward to catching up with you but I didn’t expect to see you back so soon.”
“Yeah, well, Phil’s got some things to show me and they’re not suitable viewing for a pub meet-up,” Dale replied, a mischievous smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Let’s grab some fresh drinks and get comfortable.”
The living room was cosy and inviting, adorned with tasteful decor and mementoes of their life together. As we settled into the plush couches, a strange tension began to build in the room and I wasn’t sure why. Jenny, in particular, seemed slightly on edge. Only slightly, but noticeable, even to my alcohol-dulled senses.
Dale poured us each a generous measure of whisky, the amber liquid glinting in the soft glow of the lamplight. He handed me a glass with a small nod of encouragement, his eyes reflecting a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. Jenny sat opposite us, nursing a beer in her hand.
“Cheers,” Dale said, raising his glass in a toast before taking a long sip.
“Cheers,” I echoed, the warmth of the whisky seeping into my bones as I took a fortifying gulp. The familiar burn of the alcohol offered a brief respite from the turmoil of my thoughts, a temporary escape from the strange atmosphere and the nagging curiosity of what Sue was doing elsewhere. “So, do you want to see the photos?”
When he gave me a vigorous nod of encouragement, I retrieved the laptop and photos from my bag, placing them on the coffee table as he filled Jenny in on what I’d told him in the pub; about Sue’s meeting with James tonight and everything that had led to it since I’d stayed here last.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Jenny said softly, still acting strangely. Was she uncomfortable with me showing Dale the photos?
“You know, if this is all too much,” I said, reaching for the envelope of pictures before Dale could pick them up. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be dropping all of my shit on you guys.”
“No, it’s not that,” Dale’s wife replied, her deep, dark eyes blinking rapidly as she shuffled in her seat. She exchanged a look with her husband, then managed to force a smile. “We’ve got something to ask you and I’m worried it might be weird.”
“Phil, relax,” Dale reassured me, then wasted no time in taking the envelope from me, eagerly opening it and flipping through the photos, his eyes widening in disbelief as he took in the explicit images before him. Jenny moved to sit next to us, leaning in closer, her expression a mixture of shock and disbelief as she caught glimpses of the scandalous scenes between Sue and her former lovers.
“Are these real…?” she began, her voice trailing off as she struggled to find the words to articulate her disbelief.
“Yeah,” I confirmed, my voice barely above a whisper. “This is the stuff Sue used to get up to before she met me.”
Dale’s eyes flickered with a mixture of curiosity and excitement as he went through the photographs slowly, pausing at the one of Sue in the gangbang. “Wow,” he muttered, a word echoed by Jenny from his side. It was a surreal experience, watching my best friend and his wife react to Sue’s secret past, their expressions a mix of shock, intrigue, and fascination. Then I set up the laptop for him, scrolling to the hidden folder and the three of us watched it, the sounds of Sue moaning as James fucked her hard and rough, filling the otherwise quiet front room.
“And that’s who she’s with tonight?” Dale asked.
“Yeah. She’s probably fucking him right now.” I saw Jenny’s cheeks redden as I said that, our eyes meeting for a long moment before she looked away, shifting uncomfortably on her seat again.
As the video of Sue and James came to an end, a heavy silence settled over us, punctuated only by the faint hum of the laptop’s cooling fan. Dale’s eyes flickered with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension as he turned to me, his expression unreadable.
“That was… pretty fucking amazing. I’d have never pinned Sue down as such a wild girl, but Phil, there’s something we’ve been wanting to ask you,” he began, his voice hesitant yet determined. “Something that’s been on our minds the past few days.”
I glanced between Dale and Jenny, sensing the gravity of the moment as they exchanged a meaningful look. Whatever they were about to ask, it was clear that it had been a heavy topic of discussion between them
“We’ve been doing some thinking,” Jenny chimed in, her voice soft yet steady. “About us, and our relationship. And… well, your experiences with Sue have made us feel like we’ve been missing out on something.”
I furrowed my brow, my curiosity piqued as Dale and Jenny shared another brief glance, silently communicating their shared thoughts. This was something big.
“I’ve been… fantasizing,” Jenny admitted, her cheeks flushing crimson again as she spoke. “Ever since we talked about your situation with Sue, it’s been on my mind constantly. And, well, Dale and I have been experimenting a bit, taking our own naughty photos and, well, you know…”
Dale nodded his reassurance to his wife, his expression a mix of anticipation and nervousness as he reached for Jenny’s hand, his fingers intertwining with hers.
“And you want to show them to me?” I asked, once I found my voice because I was so taken aback by this unexpected turn of events.
“Well, I don’t mind showing you,” Dale replied, his voice tinged with uncertainty. “But no, it’s more than that.”
“Taking photos of ourselves is fun,” Jenny said, clearing her throat, her face still glowing with embarrassment. “However, we were wondering If you would be willing to… take some photos of us. You know… in bed, making love.”
The request hung in the air, the weight of it settling over us like a heavy blanket. For a moment, I was speechless, my mind struggling to process the implications of their proposal. Yet, as I met Dale and Jenny’s earnest gazes, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and realised that my worries about Sue were finally pushed to the back of my mind.
“It would mean a lot to us,” Dale added, his voice soft yet sincere. “And, well, we trust you, Phil. We know you wouldn’t judge us, but we value your friendship more than anything and don’t want to fuck anything up.”
“When you said you were worried about this being weird,” I chuckled, picking up my whisky and downing it in one, the sharpness of it making my eyes water temporarily. “You were right. It’s really fucking weird but do you know what? I’m starting to enjoy weird.”
“Really?” Jenny said, her voice unsteady. “So…?”
“I’ve always thought you were hot,” I admitted, enjoying the smile she tried to suppress. “So am I going to turn down the opportunity to see you naked and having sex? No way am I turning that down.”
Dale downed his whisky, then clapped his hands together. “Great. Let’s fucking do this.”
Then the three of us stood, the photos and laptop forgotten, and we headed to the bedroom. This was going to be fun.
