I Feel Fear To Read Your Article On Medium

You probably too.

Medium changed itself, and they introduced a new tab of recommended stories. If I read a story about writing on Medium, the algorithm will show me all stories about writing in the recommended tab.

But honestly, I am not here on Medium to read this stuff; if I have opened one story, that doesn’t mean I want to read same stories.

I know you are also stuck with this algorithm game.

So, Medium should improve the algorithm as “your reading history.”

Medium uses the same algorithm as Google and Facebook; if you search anything on Google and log in to Facebook, it will show you the ads regarding your searched query on Google.

There are some reasons why I clicked on stories:

1. The title of the story is appealing.
2. Maybe I want to write about that topic.
3. Probably I am finding an answer to my question.
4. Or maybe I am just passing the time by enjoying reading.

It doesn’t mean the Medium algorithm can bombing of related stories. If I need to read stories about any specific topic, I will use the Medium search function displayed on the Medium app and web.

I believe I followed people because I love their writing and grip on any topic. They deserve more intention.

So, Medium should trust the readers; Medium is already out of readers because everyone is here to write for a few bucks.

There is no need for the bombardment of the same stories on readers; a reader knows how to find a story.

The Medium should improve its algorithm. Writers deserve more attention because I am following them.
