I Feel a Change Coming

Now that I am a reader again

Thank you, Reciprocal, for making me read. I used to be an avid reader. I am not sure why I stopped. But the philosophy of Reciprocal changed that.

Guess what happened? I discovered I missed reading. And I remember why I loved reading. But more importantly, reading is learning.

I not only read on Reciprocal but have found some really interesting works in other publications. I am even more excited to write.

The article by Dr.Preeti Singh, “About Me” made me think about who I am as a person and who I want to be. I found her life to be amazing. Just reading the article made me feel good. The link to that story is below.

I know that I like peace in my life. I do my best to stay away from negative people.

I pour into myself with God, encouraging scriptures, gospel music that speaks to my strength, and great sermons on Sunday that carry me through the week.

But I also realize I am too much of a loner. Reciprocal will help me change that too. I am social face-to-face but even that has its limits. I have been slower to interact with connections on social media. I know that has to change.

I guess that is why the poem by Erik Rittenberry speaks to me. His poem, “Delusions of the Damned” makes me think of the time-restricted interactions at my family gatherings. I rarely last more than two hours. Below is the link to his poem.

Now you have to read, Jan Sebastian’s, “I went to the NUT HOUSE 3 Days.” It was very entertaining. I just love her writing style. Here is the link for that one.

And I am a little embarrassed to say this, but I learned two things since being on Reciprocal that I probably should have known before now. I have been writing on Medium for one year and I just learned how to access a private note and how to add a link to a story.

There seem to be a lot of little things you need to know on Medium to help you write better. So, don’t think you know it all. We can still learn from each other. Happy reading.

Peace and thank you for reading.
