I fear that another lockdown is on the horizon

The latest data about the unyielding growth of the Omicron variant speaks amplified volumes to me. So do troubling realities like the vaccination status and the continued controversy that accompanies it along with the ever-increasing number of victims of our health crisis and massive numbers of coronavirus testing.

As a family engagement influencer, it is sobering for me to think about the impact that another lockdown will have on student learning and the quality of instruction. The academic regression of countless students and diminished parent and educator partnerships within some schools represent the things that concern me. These things are likely to happen if schools close their doors to in-person learning, even for a short time, and return to virtual learning.

My biggest hope is that the history that ravaged us in the past will end up repeating itself.
