So is my only hope as a Photoshop artist that these digital objects I create might one day pass in front of more eyes. I remember thinking that being accepted as an artist by Displate, a metal posters-selling platform, was the chance I had been waiting for. I swiftly started submitting my best work, confident that buyers around the world would find me in no time.
But weeks became months, and I wasn’t able to land a single sale regardless of what I did (or at least not from strangers in these networks). My gallery collected dust for a full two years, and my motivation waned. My work seemed to get lost amongst the other talented artists. And this is when I discovered AI-generated pictures and thought that I had to give them a try.
So, I started having some fun with an AI tool called MidJourney, which can make images from text prompts. And to my shock, before long I made my first sale. Buoyed by this minor victory, I started to mass-produce AI-generated images and upload them onto Displate. But people gradually started buying the product from $2 to $8 per piece. In a year, the sales were adding up and my AI art earned me $800+. This is the process I used to pull it off.

How I Sold AI Art On Displate Step By Step
Making the Picture: For this one, I shall use MidJourney to prompt a picture from text and play around with what themes or styles would be interesting.
Upscaling the image: Upload it to Bigjpg for a 4x upscaling.
DPI Configuration: Once you are done upscaling the image, make sure to download it and visit Convert Town (for changing from 72 DPI to at least 300 for better print quality).
Finalize Displate Submission: Once your image is finished and looks good, upload it to Displate with all the necessary information.
Looking Ahead to the Future of Digital Art
The transition from a traditional Photoshop artist to someone earning money from AI-rendered images was really unexpected yet fruitful. This experience left me understanding the critical importance of change and keeping our minds wide open to other people’s concepts. I parlayed it into a new revenue stream using AI.
So, as an artist who is trying to break through and enhance his/her work, then do not be afraid to test the tools in their hands. There are so many ways you could generate your next sale.
