How Drinking 1000ml Lemon Water Every Day for a Month, Changed My Body

I’ll admit it: I haven’t been taking the best care of my body and skin lately. Well, life has sort of gotten in the way that I’ve been lazy a bit especially when it comes to my routine.
Lately, I’ve not been indulging in any sort of serious calorie burn activity like walking all because of quarantine. But even at home, my silly self is not doing any sort of exercise… Why?
Because I was too lazy to do that.
I’ve been falling asleep without washing my face, skipping a few steps (including moisturizer!), eating non-stop, avoiding exercises, and of course, the repercussions have shown.
And because of my not-so-healthy routine, where my body being body isn’t doing any good to me, but my skin is also betraying me. It recently started looking tired and blotchy and breaking out. I’ve been facing hormonal issues which had led to severe acne and bumps on my skin.
And to be proactive about reversing the damage, I went on the internet in search of a natural approach that would be helpful for my body. And I read a lot about lemon water benefits, how drinking it daily not only nourishes the skin but helps in weight loss and stomach issues.
I thought, why not try it out? So, I began drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice in 1 Litre (1000ml) of water.
Here’s what I learned after one month of putting it to the test.
My Acne Scars Disappeared
So, the main problem which made me opt for this remedy is… ACNE. Trust me, I don’t use a single chemical product on my skin or even a brush of makeup, but that doesn’t stop acne and breakouts to appear on my skin.
Seriously, are you kidding me?
I’d tried every medicine. Not only that but many messy home remedies… you know where you apply fruit or flour mask on your face the whole night just to cure your skin and let me tell you having these masks on is annoying as hell! And more annoying when these things don’t work out.
But lemon water worked. Yeah, really… worked.
As my lemon-water kick progressed, my acne went away, and they were a lot less frequent. And not only my acne stopped appearing but my acne scars also started fading not completely, even if it’s a little bit but they started disappearing and that’s good progress right?
Lemon juice is a natural antibacterial agent. Drinking it internally banishes harmful bacteria or toxic materials from my bloodstream. And hence clearing my skin from acne and breakouts.
My Food Cravings Diminished
I was always a food-lover from the start; you know, the one who eats a lot… a lot!
To be honest, I am the type of girl who eats what the damn girl wants to eat regardless of how many calories it includes, or how much quantity of food I ate.
I never had to worry about my food intake until now… you know because of my lack of physical activity I wasn’t able to burn my calorie and my daily high-intake of calories also wasn’t helping either.
Most of the people who can’t exercise opt for going on a diet. But I wasn’t that person either — skipping breakfast, avoiding oily foods, eating salads, and controlling hunger truly wasn’t my case.
But drinking lemon water not only treated my stomach issues but also decreased my food craving. Surprising, isn’t it? I know.
At first, I didn’t notice it, but as the days of the experiment continued, I noticed that my craving for food subsequently started decreasing. Before I can’t help but have 4–5 meals a day, but now I can’t eat over 2 and a half meal a day. Isn’t it a good thing? When you don’t eat many calories, you don’t have to worry about burning them.
I’ve Lost Some Weight
I’ve seen many Instagram influencers pointing out how they drink #lemonwater every morning or celebrities praise the body health benefits of water with fresh lemon in it and wondered if they were on to something. Well, it turns out they might be.
Not only does lemon water taste refreshing, but it could also aid in weight loss. It is found that 1 glass of lemon water can burn a minimum of 6 calories and you may end up burning about 200 calories daily.
Well, if you think that drinking lemon water every day magically dropped my ten pounds overnight, that wasn’t the case.
There are several things that I’ve experienced that lead to shedding a few pounds like it suppressed my appetite, stimulated metabolism, and limited my intake of calories.
And it would be right to say that — I lost a few pounds!
It Treated My Stomach Issues
Okay, I really want to talk about stomach acid! This gets me super excited because I went for YEARS suffering stomach issues like digestion problems, but this wasn’t the fundamental problem.
The main one was CONSTIPATION… there I finally said that! Yeah, it’s quite embarrassing to admit that, but it’s the truth.
I bought every over-the-counter antacid medication and even tried home remedies, yet and I never felt much relief. I spent 20 years of my life suffering from constipation.
It shocked me when I tried lemon water for the first time. It seems completely insane that drinking lemon water would actually help… it does! I saw results in the first week, only where I didn’t have to struggle with annoying stomach pains, gas attacks, and digestion problems. I was over the moon with the relief I experienced from stomach issues.
I Was Less Bloated
Many of you might be familiar with this thing where your belly feels swollen after eating, no matter if you’re fat or not, but whenever you eat, you ended up looking few months pregnant.
Crazy, isn’t it? Well, that’s what we call bloating.
If you’re suffering from it you know how annoying it could be especially when it comes to wearing short clothes — you can’t wear crop tops because that will flaunt your bloated belly, you can’t wear dresses, and the worst scenario is when you can’t adjust your jeans on your waist and even if you do you end up showing your swollen belly even through long t-shirts or tops.
However, lemon water helped me a lot to get rid of bloating. Lemon encourages the healthy elimination of water via your urine.
Simply put: it makes you pee more.
This effectively prevents bloating and water retention, helping to prevent “water weight gain.”
As the experiment continued, I noticed my belly doesn’t swell that much as before. And seeing the results by the end of the month really impressed me.
My Skin Started Glowing
One of the biggest claims people love to make about lemon water is that it helps your skin glow and look as radiant as possible. While that’s a nice thought, is it actually true?
In terms of my skin clearing up, I saw little change in the first 6 to 7 days. But I noticed that at the end of the first week my pores were less visible and felt a lot less clogged.
But at the end of the month, I definitely noticed the changes… obviously good ones!
A few of my annoying spots cleared up (the one right over the bridge of my nose and one near my chin, I somewhat got rid of acne scars, and my skin complexion more radiant and my skin looked more bright and healthy than it did 30 days ago.
It Helped Me to Establish A Morning Routine
Committing to this experiment helped me to establish a morning routine.
I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t forget or get off track, so I set my alarm for the same time each day, made my breakfast and hot lemon water, ate while checking for classes, showered, and then took on my day.
This forced me to wake up a little earlier but also allowed me to have a much more relaxed morning, rather than running around and rushing to classes.
It Treated My Bad Breath
Having a bad breath? Well, lemon water can help you with that.
By drinking lemon water in the morning, my oral health improved, and that eventually got me rid of my bad breath problem. Whether you want to get rid of the unpleasant smell in your mouth for your own sake or the sake of others, lemon juice is a great option.
CONCLUSION:
After seeing the benefits of drinking lemon water every morning, it’s definitely something that I don’t want to stop and want to keep in my routine.
