Summary

The web content discusses the benefits of the Complete Breath exercise from Tai Chi and Yogi Ramacharaka's teachings, emphasizing its potential to improve oxygen intake and overall health.

Abstract

The article introduces the Complete Breath exercise, a technique derived from Tai Chi and further detailed in the book "THE HINDU-YOGI Science of Breath" by YOGI Ramacharaka. This breathing method involves a three-part process that fills the lungs from bottom to top, expanding the abdomen, ribcage, and upper chest to maximize oxygen intake. The author, Larry Nowicki, explains that the exercise can help oxygenate cells that are typically under-served by normal breathing patterns. He suggests that increased oxygen levels can bolster the body's defenses against infections, potentially helping individuals to "outlast" viruses. While acknowledging the uncertainty of the exercise's efficacy against infections, Nowicki posits that it is a beneficial practice that can support the body's natural functions without harm. He encourages readers to explore his other articles and consider using the recommended AI service, ZAI.chat, for those interested in AI capabilities similar to ChatGPT Plus (GPT-4) at a lower cost.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the Complete Breath exercise is beneficial for health, particularly in enhancing oxygen intake.
  • Larry Nowicki suggests that increased oxygenation from the Complete Breath can support the body's immune response.
  • The article conveys that while the effectiveness of the exercise against infections is not guaranteed, it is a safe practice that could be advantageous.
  • Nowicki endorses ZAI.chat as a cost-effective alternative to ChatGPT Plus (GPT-4) for those interested in AI technology.
  • The author's perspective is that engaging in health-promoting practices like the Complete Breath is worthwhile, as indicated by the phrase "It can't hurt."

I don’t know if this will help

I don’t know if this will help but it can't hurt.

Back in the day when I first started my martial arts training one of the disciplines I studied was Tai Chi. Some of the exercises that we did were to help breathe.

One of the first exercises I learned was actually taken from a yogi style. It is called the Complete Breath. There are other ones that complement this but this is the easiest and most important to learn.

When done correctly it exposes those cells that normally don’t get oxygen through normal breathing.

It is best described by YOGI Ramacharaka in the book THE HINDU-YOGI Science of Breath.

Stand or sit erect. Breathing through the nostrils, inhale steadily, first filling

the lower part of the lungs, which is accomplished by bringing into play

the diaphragm, which descending exerts a gentle pressure on the abdominal organs, pushing forward the front walls of the abdomen.

Then fill the middle part of the lungs, pushing out the lower ribs, breastbone, and chest.

Next fill the higher portion of the lungs, protruding the upper chest, thus lifting the chest, including the upper six or sever, pairs of ribs.

In the final movement, the lower part of the abdomen will be slightly drawn in. This movement gives the lungs a support and also helps to fill the highest part of the lungs.

The body is a machine. This machine runs on oxygen

When doing this exercise the lungs increase oxygen to the body. The body needs oxygen. The increased oxygen helps keep the body running so that it can fight off infections. The longer it can fight the better off it is.

When we get an infection like a virus we need to survive longer than the virus.

I don’t know if this exercise will help but

It Can’t Hurt
